Troll
Trolls are a formidable race of giants that tower over most other humanoid creatures. Solitary in nature, they typically make their homes in places like bridges and caves where they can live undisturbed. One of the most striking features of trolls are their elongated limbs, which give them a distinctively lanky appearance. Their bodies are also covered in fur, with colours ranging from deep greens to jet black.
There is much speculation about the origins of trolls, but some believe that they may be distant ancestors of giants and goliaths due to their similar body structure. Despite their fearsome reputation, trolls are not necessarily aggressive by nature, and can even form bonds of friendship with those who earn their trust. However, they are also known for their regenerative abilities, which allow them to heal even the most severe wounds over time, making them difficult foes to defeat in combat.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Size: Medium
Speed: 30ft
Regeneration: At the start of each of your turns, you can expend one Hit Die. You regain hit points equal to the roll plus your Con mod. If you take acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of your next turn. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Limber Form: You have the ability to use 5 feet of your movement to stand up straight on your turns. When you stand up straight, your size increases to large, and you gain advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks against creatures that are smaller than you. For example, while standing you have a base movement speed of 25ft a turn.
Vicious Cry: You can use this feature as a bonus action to shout at a creature that can hear and see you. To determine the success of this action, you must make a contested Intimidation check against the target's AC. If you succeed, the target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn't against you until the start of your next turn. However, if you attack a creature other than the target while this effect is still active, the effect on the target ends prematurely.
