Esha Mcintosh
Esha, my beloved daughter… You were everything a father could hope for. The villagers called you "the kind," and you wore that name like a badge of honor. You helped your mother, cared for your brothers, and gave to those who had less, even when we had little ourselves. I can still see your smile, the way your eyes would light up when you saw a child laugh, or the gentle way you spoke to the elderly. Esha, the obedient. Esha, the pure. You were the best of us all, and that is why it had to be you.
When the elders came, when the crops failed and the livestock died, we knew the valley demanded its price. The curse upon our land was ancient, born from the blood of past sins, and it was always the youngest, the most innocent, who had to pay for it. The monster of the valley, that old thing of shadows and hunger, it required a sacrifice, or it would destroy us all. The fate of our village lay in the hands of tradition, and though my heart somewhat broke, I knew what had to be done.
You were the answer, Esha. It had to be you.
We led you to the valley, our hands shaking, but you did not tremble. You were calm, so sure that the gods would protect you. So sure that you were doing something good, something right. Your mother wept, your brothers couldn’t even look at you. But I… I held your hand until the very end. I whispered to you that you were saving us all, that we would never forget what you had done.
But then… you screamed.
The monster took you into its maw, the light of your life snuffed out, your blood a stain on the earth. We turned away, our village safe, our lives secured. We mourned, yes, but we rejoiced too. Because of you, we could live again. The crops would grow, and our children would laugh. You had given us peace.
I thought that was the End.
Now you stand before me, flesh and bone, but no longer the same girl I led into that valley. Esha, my daughter… how can this be? How did you return?
There is no kindness in your eyes now, no warmth in your gaze. Your lips are twisted in a sad smile, your skin pale as death. You call me father, but the word is a blade in your mouth, a curse rather than a name.
You speak of revenge, of making everyone pay. But Esha… we did what we had to do. We did it to save ourselves!
PLEASE LET ME LIV-

Pact of Blade – Golden or ivory veins run along the fissures in the handle, showing where the power of the pact bleeds through
Pact of Chain – The familiar that serves this warlock is bound by a finely cracked collar, and the collar is made of delicate gold or ivory, inscribed with runes that glow faintly with otherworldly power. Pact of Tome – The tome given by the warlock’s patron has an ornate cover made of ivory, its binding encrusted with gold filigree, but the spine is cracked and damaged. Pact of Talisman – The warlock’s talisman is a pendant containing a radiant gem, but the gem is cracked, split almost in two. It is held together by gold or ivory stitches that seem to strain under the pressure of keeping it whole.
