Martin Wagner
Martin Wagner is a Guntrelandian émigré residing in the Archkingdom of Sigisland. A native of Estana, he is the host of perhaps the best-known and the most unique salon in Kelenburg named after his hometown and located at the Candlelight Wharf.
Life
A bastard of Count von Herenburg, his grandfather had been sentenced to wearing a red glove as a reprimand for his having murdered a manservant, which had sparked a quarrel about royal interference in the nobles' rights over their dependents. Wagner is heavily in debts and was without property when he had fled Guntreland, but enjoys a sybaritic lifestyle mainly thanks to his guests' generosity. Notorious for his drinking and famous for his erudition (particularly in regard to history), he is enamoured of the pre-Revolutionary era for its celebration of cynicism, wit and charm. He is best friends with Marquise von Filburg and the two are known for playful attacks on Republican dullness, their criticisms being in sharp contrast with the more emotional Archroyalists.
