Kingdom of Bautia
The Kingdom of Bautia was formed in 1 (CC) at the Congress of Elisina after the Twenty Four Years' War and spans the entire continent of Bautia.
Bautian False War
The False War is a regulated, staged civil war in Bautia which precedes the appointment of each Bautian king. It is declared after a monarch's term expires or when the sovereign dies.
Sides
The sides in the Bautian false war are the King (or the Crown Prince appointed by the preceding monarch) and the Duke Challenger, elected by the entire Elite. Each member of the Elite freely chooses the side he will fight for (changing sides, regardless of the outcome, would afterwards be punished as high treason), whilst lower class Bautians are to fight on the side they are designed. The leader of the victorious side has a right to the crown, whilst his opponent is to be executed.
False War and the Foreign World
It is believed that the Archking Ferdinand encouraged the Bautians to introduce the False War in the Congressional Act as the sole legitimate means of appointing the Bautian ruler, fearing that the united Bautians might pose a threat to the predominance of Sigisland thus viewing the False War as a means to regularly reduce their power. The Archqueen Karolina-Louise, due to her pacifist beliefs, has on numerous occasions opined that the False War ought to be prohibited, or replaced with a tabletop war such as Ferdinanding. Hermann Henscher has expressed opposition to the Bautian polemocracy, declaring that government must not derive from brute force.
