Felorai
The Dragon Realm
982 A.E.
Dragons
The world is ruled and dominated by dragons and draconic subraces. Other humanoid races are simply allowed to exist under the oppressive rule of their Dragonlords. This creates lots of different ideologies and cultures across the lands. Some folk welcome and even worship the Dragonlords as their "Sacred Saviors", believing the Dragons saved Felorai from utter destruction. Others abhor their oppressive rulers and harbor negative feelings toward all draconic races, whether in secret organizations, or open rebel militias. This naturally creates lots of tension amongst the general population. Over time this has led to numerous eras of war, peace, rebellion, anarchy, and everything in between. No matter what the overall state of the world is, the one constant is the Dragonlords' everlasting Supreme reign.
Dungeons
There are also many dungeons, not unlike many other planes in D&D. After winning the war with the titans, dragons have been the penultimate rulers of society for thousands upon thousands of years. During that time there have been ample opportunities for dragons, dragon worshipers, and dragon haters alike to make dungeons of all shapes and varieties. Some are ancient and forgotten, now occupied by bandits, goblins, and the like. Others are newer and occupied by the original owner. Whatever the case, the dungeons are so common that "dungeon delver" is a viable career choice as well as "adventurer". Many traders specialize in buying and selling dungeon loot even if they never go near one themselves.
Guilds
Dragons are inherently lazy, yet they love to be in positions of power. Power obviously comes with a lot of responsibility, most of which are mundane affairs in the eyes of a Dragon. This contradiction has led to the creation of Empire Sanctioned Guilds. These guilds are officially authorized by the Emperor themselves and serve as the cornerstone for running society. So, guilds are widespread and highly organized and are the actual entities that run the day-to-day tasks that are necessary for proper society. All of the E.S.G. leaders however are Dragons, since they don't want to give the illusion that humanoids hold any true political power. These Dragons are chosen mostly for their motivation and drive, at least by a Dragon's standards, and are not necessarily the most powerful.
