Religion of the Carpenter

Religion of the Carpenter The Pantheon of Kellenskria
The great god of Kellenskria is the Carpenter (they/them). Before they completed their journey across the stars in their longboat, they fashioned from the wood Their children who would complete the journey with him.

First to be carved was Lorthal (single circle). The light bringer and wielder of flames, it was she that Carpenter taught the art of combat, so fierce was their battles it formed the mountains. Her followers preach protection, honor, bravery and combat the undead and demonic forces.

Second to be carved was Caimiléir (Second circle), The hidden and trickster, it was he who the carpenter taught the arts of deceit and quickwit and it was for him that shadow formed in the world in which he could pass unseen. His followers are no organised religion rather he is the patron of spies, thieves, murders and social political players. Caimiléir once attempted to undermine his father by building a bridge to heaven but Lorthal and others betrayed him and his father tore it down.

Third to be carved was Torthúlacht, the goddess of life, healing, protection of innocence, endurance through suffering and peace. It was her that the carpenter taught the knowledge of growth, of death and life, of passion and pain, It was for her plant life blossomed in the world from flowers to fungi. Her followers preach healing, forgiveness, safety and sanctuary especially for children. Torthúlacht also has the 7 valkyries whom guide the souls of innocent children through the great journey as they cannot complete it alone.

Fourth and final to be carved was Sebastion the god/goddess/deity of reason. It was them who the carpenter taught all knowledge, such as the written word, law, reason and balance. For them the sun rose above all the world each day and illuminated the truth of things for those who sought knowledge. Their followers share knowledge, write texts, attempt to maintain the balance and follow logic and reason.

In order to reach heaven a person must pass the 13 trials of the cosmos eg defeating the cyclops. The skills you gained in life are considered to help you navigate these trials as are items you take with you thus burial is often a large affair and expensive (eg being buried with your sword and gold and other things pharoah style). The members of the empire have also named costellisans after the trials and so often people point these out in the night sky.
Each child has a host that follows them. This host is full of people whose actions in life aligned with values of that god so much that the god either laid claim to them or they just found their way into host, eg Lorthal warriors, heroes, Caimiléir spies, thieves, murders and social political players, Torthúlacht healers, growers ect ect. And Sebastion Philosophers, judges, mathematicians, teachers ect ect. For those undecided Sebastian's people weigh you actions on a scale and decide where you go or you enter the endless garden a place for unaligned souls.
