Blood contract
History
Once upon a time, a wizard started to study the Contracts devils use to bind humans and other devils to their deals, with the hope of finding out how to free a person from a devil's contract. The long research supposedly produced an answer but the nullifying of such contracts remain a mystery due to the wizard's death in 1103 (~300 years ago). However there was a byproduct to this obsession, the knowledge how to create multiple types of Blood contracts similar to Devil contracts. Using specially made magical ink and specialized high quality parchment it was possible to bind any person to a deal whose blood and name was willingly put on it.
Spreading throughout the world
1027 to 1103
The first contracts were sold by the wizard to rich men without much care for the buyer, if you had the gold, you could get one. The wizard funded the research with this money.1103 to 1115
After the death of the wizard, most of the recipes for Blood contracts were stolen and sold across the world's richest, it spread like wildfire, however the making of even a weak one took rare ingredients and a great craftsman who was also skilled in magecraft.1115 to today
In the end only elite or specialized craftsmen even bothered to collect or buy the instructions to make one.Destroying a Blood contract
As these pacts are not as durable as the original ones Devils use, they can be destroyed, but only by magic of a spell level equal to or higher than the spell slot used to craft them, or by a magical item of higher rarity. If a Blood Contract is destroyed, all clauses become null and void, and the participants are freed from obeying its terms. When this happens, all participants feel the Blood Contract fade.
