Herald of the Moon, Bolus
The Man on the Moon
Bolus was once a proud and knowledgeable god, entertaining mortals daily and nightly. However, he grew fearful of mortal pride as he watched the world around him grow more and more distant from the ones he once knew. Over time, corruption and greed would break down the morals of even the most heroic kings and queens for whom he once sang.
Most tragically, the ears who once heard him would inevitably grow deaf; those that would join him in chorus grew silent. Eyes filled with joy would glass over and fade away, while he remained. Not willing to become attached to mortals he knew would pass, he isolated himself completely, living his life entirely on the moon, away from loss.
