The Druidic War
“...and Xera Xintayo stared Androxys in the eyes, and spoke aloud in the temple, ‘You have cursed war upon yourself,’ and Androxys shook his fist in fury.”
The Cause
“Who‘s fault is it that this war happened? Who, or what, caused the possible fall of our world?”
Religious Divide
Shamans and Druids had different religious views on where spirits should have gone. Shamans believed the spirits should have been freed to their respective lands of holiness, whereas the Druids believed the spirits should have been used for life-force as they do currently.Previous Conflict
Shamans had a main population of Ork, whereas the Druids had a main population of Elf and Humans. Due to past conflict between these races, these two groups of people already had conflict. (read Oruk-Elf Conflicts article)Third Party Influence
No one is sure which organization was responsible for this, but a group of people began a Shaman-based uprising in Hallus, an ancient Druid city that was burned to the ground. Xera Xintayo believed this was guided by Androxys Avonis, and in turn made the act that would begin the Druidic War.The Impact
“You would watch these giants fight, the Shamans and Druids, and would pray to Jiggluag you wouldn't be caught in the middle of it. It was like watching Titans battle. Neither side would let up, and its why the world is so different today.“The Druidic War was solely responsible for the complete annihilation of the Shaman way, as well as the almost extinction of every Druid in existence. The world was left in fire during the war. It changed the mindset of everyone, as they came to realize the power that Man could hold. Dragons came from their mountains to help the people caught in the war, which led to the Integration of Dragons. The entire ancient arts of Druidic power and spirit manipulation were lost in the elements. Magic was changed forever, the popular magic becoming a more classic, wizards magic.
Quotes From Veterans and Onlookers
“Zynyrys often talked about what he saw when he was saving the orc citizens in The Battle of Lotus. He talked about how their children were screaming, and no matter how strong those orc citizens were, they could not compete with the power those Druids held.“
“I lost my poor Zachariah in the battle. The orc confused him with a Druid. He was just a simple farmer. What kind of halfling goes into war? Its not fair.“
“I watched my friend cut the head of a child. Said he was a Druid spy. The war was getting to his mind, I knew it.“
