Artificial Organs

Throughout the histories of all sentinet people in Boreal and Solar the need for organ transplants has existed, though one major element stopped them from being readily avaliable, to harvest a donor organ, the donor will most likely be dead. Arties were created to fufill this need, without a donor needing to be dead or willing to donate part of their organ.   Arties function the same way as an organic version of the organ, an Artie heart will pump blood around the body, Artie lungs will oxygenate the blood, an Artie liver will filter out toxins. It has been theorised that Arties could be used to enhance a persons bodily functions, in a similar way to Cybernetic Augmentations do for limbs and other extremities, though at this point this hasn't been attempted outside of small tests in simulations.   The only organ not able to be replicated with an Artie is the brain, being so complex and unique to each person, the brain is unable to be replicated. The closest technology has come is the processing units inside Androids, but the idea of replacing a brain inside a persons body has been met with both ethical and moral obligations. If the brain cannot be completely cloned and replicated one for one, is it the same person? Would the orignal brain and person not die so the new one could walk?
