Mental characteristics
Personal history
Agravain is the 2nd son of King Lot & Queen Morgan of Orkney. Younger brother of Gawain, older brother of Gaheris & Gareth. Older half-brother of Mordred, making him a nephew of King Arthur. He accompanied his brothers when they abandoned their father for service with Arthur. He fought against the Saxons & was knighted by Arthur. Agravain was upset for being knighted after Gaheris, despite being the older brother. This conflict escalated to the point of Agravain attempting to kill Gaheris. Agravain then served the king in Gaul & Saxony. While under Arthur's rule, Agravain found out about a hill, known as the Hill of Wretches, defended by Sir Druas. Sir Druas would kill or wound all knights who tried to pass over it. Sir Agravain mounted the hill, encountered, & killed Druas near a fountain. This resulted in Druas's dwarf offering Agravain a horn. When the horn was blew it summoned a knight named, Sorenhan. Sornehan defeated Agravain & would've slain him, but a damsel happened to come by & asked for Agravain’s life. The damsel pointed out that Sorenhan would save his Gawain's life & due to Agravain being the younger brother he Sorenhan should do the same. Sornehan agreed, instead imprisoning Agravaine in the tower on the hill & enclosed it with a wall having only one gate, where Sornehan would fight whomever mounted the hill. Later Sornehan defeated & imprisoned Gaheris when he trid to cross the hill. Sornehan’s niece, assisted him & Agravain secretly. Gareth defeated Sornehan, rescued his brothers, & sent Sornehan as prisoner to the Lady of Roestoc. The hill, was henceforth called li tertres Agravaine (Agravain's Hill). Later Agravain would court & marry Florée, a princess from Scotland. After Gaheris had killed their mother, Morgan, Agravain's already budding hatred for Gaheris had boiled over. This resulted in Agravain attempting to murder Gaheris, which Gawain stopped. The three agreed to a truce & instead participated in the murder of Lamorak. While on the Grail quest, Dinadan mocked Agravain & Mordred for the murder of Sir Lamorak, telling them that it was unjust & dishonorable. As a result the two teamed up & killed Dinadan. Agravain abducted the princess of North Wales. During which he was terribly wounded & had to be cured with the blood of Gawain & Lancelot. Later Agravain his brother, Gawain, back from responding too hastily to Guigambresil’s accusation of treachery. Offering to fight on his brother’s behalf. His greatest offense was wrought near the end of Arthur’s reign, when he conspired with Mordred to expose the affair between Lancelot & Guinevere. When Arthur was away from court, the two brothers roused a band of knights & captured the lovers in Guinevere’s chambers. Agravain was slain by Lancelot, at the ensuing battle outside Guinevere’s room.

Mental Trauma
Agravain was spoiled in his childhood because of his beauty. He hates women due to his mother, Morgan. Agravain also has an inferiority complex, specifically about Gaheris, his younger brother.
Morality & Philosophy
He is calm, calculated & even cruel, always going for the best option at hand. He believes his purpose is to assist the appropriate King of Britain, thus despite Morgan's order, he claimed that he helped Artoria willingly, believing her to be the best king Britain could have. He, however, hates women due to Morgan & was shocked to discover Artoria's gender when exposing Guinevere's affair.
Personality Characteristics
Vices & Personality flaws
Although a good knight of arms, Agravain was not a likable character. Often seen as envious & evil-disposed, without love or pity. he was very handsome and a capable fighter, but his beauty was the best part of him. Maybe he was spoiled in his childhood because of his beauty. At the same time, he was a member of the Round Table, and got around quite a bit on adventures. Agravain resented any honorable warrior.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Being a Knight of the Round Table, Agravain has various relationships with other knights such as;
- King Artoria: Serving on the Round Table, Agravain often advocated more so than the others of the King's inhuman nature. He often pronounced to the other knights that, "The King is not the incarnation of the dragon; his heart is a single dragon. His magical power is of a level beyond ours. I ask you not to seek the same values as ours from one possessing magic like the gods. Agravain put the restraint "The battle must be for truth" onto Excalibur.
- Guinevere: Agravain loved Guinevere, like he would his mother. He often saw her as the polar opposite of his evil mother & developed a maternal complex about her. However Agravain would never act on these feelings, instead respecting her relationship with his king. This was another reason why he admired the two. This all came crashing down once Agravain discovered her affair with Lancelot, killing her in rage. Like Gaheris did to his mother.
- Lancelot: Agravain hated Lancelot. Often comparing himself to Lancelot, seeing him as the perfect knight compared to his darker self. This often resulted in the two butting heads. This would eventually lead to the discovery of his affair with Guinevere. This affair spiked Agravain's hatred for the two, killing her in blind rage. In response Lancelot would kill him.
- Bedivere: Agravain’s loyalty to Artoria provides an interesting contrast with Bedivere’s loyalty to the King of Knights. Bedivere admired Artoria for her compassion towards the common folk of Britain, while Agravain admired her overarching persona as King. Bedivere notes that Camelot's fall accelerated after his death, & that he may have been the most important person holding the Table together.
- Tristan:
- Lamorak: Lamorak was the son of the man who had killed King Lot in battle. Because of this all of Lot's sons felt insulted by Lamorak & started a blood feud. Later Lamorak would fall in love with Queen Morgause, the boys mother. When Gaheris found the two in bed together he was consumed by rage & decapitated his mother. This incident angered Lamorak, causing a fight to break out between him & Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris, Gareth, & Mordred.
- Dinadan: Dinadan often mocked Agravain for the murder of Lamorak. As a result Agravain & Mordred killed him.
Family Ties
The 2nd son of King Lot & Queen Morgause of Orkney. Younger brother of Gawain, older brother of Gaheris & Gareth. Older half-brother of Mordred. He married Laurel, the niece of Lionors & Lynette. He is a nephew of King Arthur.
- King Lot:
- Queen Morgan: Agravain has a complicated relationship with his mother. Both loving & hating her at times. Both yearning for the love & approval of his mother & hating the evil way she carried herself. It is because of Agravain's relationship to Morgan that he hates women.
- Gawain: Agravain greatly respected his older brother. Gawain often stopped Agravain's attempts on Gaheris's life. Later Agravain would offer to fight on Gawain's behalf for Guigambresil’s accusation of treachery.
- Gaheris: Agravain was upset for being knighted after Gaheris, despite being the older brother. This conflict escalated to the point of Agravain attempting to kill Gaheris. Gaheris would beat him twice, enforcing Agravain's inferiority complex. After Gaheris had killed their mother, Agravain's hatred continued to grow. Gawain often stopped Agravain's attempts on Gaheris's life.
- Gareth:
- Mordred: Agravain would often feel sympathetic for the way Mordred was treated by the rest of the Round Table, & specifically Artoria. This could be due to Agravain's own moral greyness, or his older brother nature coming out. Due to this Agravain & Mordred team up regularly, often resulting in various treacherous schemes. Such as the killing of Sir Lamorak & Sir Dinadan. However the duo's most infamous scheme was the reveal of the affair between Queen Guivevere & Lancelot. Despite their closeness, Agravain never knew about Mordred's plot to overthrow the king.
