Shanksville
Port city on the western coast of Neilhelm. Main setting for the campaign (Welcome to Shanksville).
The town of Shanksville started off as a simple fishing village when the new residents of Neilhelm worked their way to the west coast. The west coast itself was composed mostly of cliffside which made the little beach of Shanksville prime real estate. The location attracted the Fairwinds, a wealthy, noble family who gained good standing by establishing the trade of stone with Ravakain. They came hoping to expand their trade enterprise to include naval operations. Due to some early success, the town soon had a large dock and the semblance of a proper shipyard. Trade with Io opened up and the town began to flourish. The civil war of the dragons meant they needed a good deal of supplies, but the large trade convoys attracted pirates and bandits. Thus began the decline of Shanksville. The Fairwinds did their best to establish protection for the town and its trade routes. For a while the guard force and navy they founded proved fruitful, but before things could stabilize tragedy struck the Fairwind family. A curse came upon them and the town, resulting in a mysterious fog that trapped the townsfolk and unsuspecting travelers.
This is how our party of adventurers found the town. Since then they lifted the curse caused by a shadow demon. assisted nearby towns with goblins and undead. Helped build fortifications to protect against a dragon. Fended off an attack by pirates and simultaneously helped begin a new navy and guard. Restored the town after the destruction by an undead army. Grew a giant oak tree, awakened an army of trees including the giant oak, and got 1 of their own elected mayor.
