Dragons Bane

Dragons Bane is a weapon mythed to have been made by northern frost giants. Long before civilization was established by mankind the dragons and giants ruled. after many years of war between the giants and the dragons the giants began losing because they are land locked. The giants then created the Dwarves a very smart and intuitive race that also stout and hardy much like the giants. It was because of their intuitiveness, something they were better at than the giants, that they were able to create unique weapons and spells to help the giants such as earthbind, a spell that binds a flying creature to the earth. The Dwarves kept improving in their crafts which lead them in the discovery of how to make magic items although they found out it is extremely hard and dangerous they eventually made the first magic items and kept improving on this until they created the first artifact.

Three dwarves worked together to create the hammer of immense power for the giants to wield to defeat the dragons, a weapon that would hold the dragons unable to run or fly away. The process to make the weapon took four years and once it was done the weapon was beautiful, it was filled with runes and gems, made purely of stone with a copper pommel, the weapon however was so powerful that once created it quickly became unstable and in celebration the hammer exploded snapping it near in half killing the dwarves who made it leaving them nameless in history. The weapon was now to small for the giants yet too heavy and big for dwarves so they began searching for a warrior that could bear it, someone who was tall, strong, smart, and determined and the one who fit this description was none other than a Northman from its most northern island; Gunnhautr Hadolfrsson.

Gunnhautr Hadolfrsson is the pinnacle of strength and determination, an 8 foot standing man with a strength of a god, he had taken up the hammer as he had grown tired of the dragons reign and agreed to help the giants if he was allowed to keep the hammer. Gunnhautr Hadolfrsson was not only was he a great warrior but he was one of the greatest True Speakers and with the Hammer and True Speaking together him and his nation were able to end the war in the giants favour, although in the end neither side had truly won for over 3/4 of each population was decimated and it is for that reason the hammer got its name; Dragons Bane!
