Session 67: "Bullet" Train

The Session begins with the team's breachers, Jason and Silence, pulling a one-two combo on the first car. They open it with hacking, then Silence deploys poison gas, clearing the car in an instant, then Jason hacks all its weaponry with a spark of maniacal glee, muttering "Oh Yeah...".

From here, the team splits up. Kenny and Silence move forward with the gas cloud to clear the next car, which the cloud practically does for them. Meanwhile, Kutter picks up Jason, and they move back forward to gain control over the train's main cannon at the front.

Jason and Kutter successfully take control of the main gun, with Kutter peeling the bulkhead open and Jason blasting the gunner in the head. Jason continues forward after hacking the autocannons mounted atop the turret, while Kutter heads back towards the main fight.

Silence is surprised at the third door; however, when a gang of supermutants breaks it down and tramples him, nearly killing him. Silence teleports away back behind the returning Kutter, and Kenny is left to face the group on his own. Meanwhile, their squad leader at the back relentlessly fires his AR-style Barrett .50 caliber at anyone he sees.

Kenny is in dire straits, getting pummeled by the super mutants alone, until Gug parachutes in, flying through the open door and attacking the mutants covering him. Then Kutter gets back to them and helps them tear the whole squad to shreds, but not before Cecile psychically dominates the squad leader, commanding him to open more doors and then jump off the train.

Jason performs another hack to gain control over the track-laying robot, controlling it to clear the blockaded tracks ahead.

After seeing enemies from the camp who had climbed aboard and were moving on top of the carriages to reinforce the gang of mutants, Jason uses his mobility rig to fly backwards. He lands directly in front of them with a simple "Howdy" before hitting the entire mob with a lightning bolt.

Kenny jumps off and then back on the train to get to the back cart, triggering Vex to make his grand entrance, from his vantage point on top of the train car, Jason zooms his goggles, recognizing the ghoul as none other than Dr. Vernon X. Clifford, the leader of the institute remnant, whom they helped rescue from Spectacle Island. Jason uses his hacked autocannons to send shells at Vex, but his robotic limb's automatically maneuvers him out of the way. With his IR vision, Jason can see that his limbs are equipped with Lidar sensors for automatic attack avoidance. Kenny, Kutter, and Gug, who made their way back to assist Kenny, found this out when trying to strike him.

Vex returns the favor with a volley of perfectly timed airburst shells, absolutely shredding Jason and one unlucky deflection detonating within inches of his left leg, blowing it off below the knee. Hank got him on his shoulder and rushed him back to Silence, who was safely inside one of the cars.
