Session 64: The Crushers

The session began with the team engrossed in battle with the sentry bots in Quincy Quarry. Kenny began by attempting to verbally disable the hivemind with his tounge of the sun and moon, using the name Kutter gave him for who most likely built the system, Vex, this worked pacifying the robots temporarily. May and Kenny struck a granite block till collapse and trapped a sentry bot under the rubble, then Kenny disabled the missile arm and used his grappeling hook to pin the gatling arm scoring an effective mobility kill on that bot. Meanwhile Kenny ordered the breachers to push across the bridge and engage the nearest mortar platform while their armor peircing slugs were highly effective but the mortar bot tore them assunder with vollys of explosive as they breachers were in the open and clustered together.
  Jason utilized the oppertunity, revealing new thruster mobility tech remanisant of Jetts system, he flew in and hacked into a sentry bot, attempting to shut down the whole system, he successfully broke the connection but the shutdown order failed, unfortunately Vex installed failsafes, and the hacked bot immediately exploded, sending Jason and Blair flying into the wall knocking them unconsious. The bots were now operating independently and with reduced accuracy.
  Kutter and Hank fought hard in the center of the chaos, battering there bot with combo attacks and successfully wrenching off its arm with Kutter's power claw.
  Cecile and the anti tank teams hammered bots across the field of battle but faced a steady stream of units targeting them in return, reciving special focus from the second mortar unit.
  Doc saw Jason and Blair get hit hard, he rapeled down determined to save them, he healed them quickly but was assailed by a sentry bot, the grit of his fallen commrades flowed through him, he threw the reinforced stretcher over the three of them deflecting the fire from the minigun then rose and fired his pistol, detonating the missile flying at them midair. Alas when he loaded them on the stretcher and activated the mechanical winch it was too much weight, so without hesitation he stayed behind and fired his pistol defiantly at the charging sentry bot who pinned him against the wall with its red hot gunbarrels and fired the minigun bisecting him, killing him instantly.
  The mortarbot rained down fire on its fellow who had killed Doc as without the network connecting them they had not friend or foe identification, meanwhile the other mortarbot was assailed by Kenny after the breachers retreated but it was too little too late as even outside of the quarry the mortars downed both squads, killing half of the total unit. Kenny finished off the bot, knocking him into his fellow mortar platform killing them both.
  No ones rage matched Kutters however, as he ordered Richards to knock him into the two remaining bots, causing him to cue ball them into one another detenating both in a nuclear blast that Kutter barely cleared.
  With the Vault door audibly breached the team pushed in recklessly, the fastest and closest being Kenny, May, and Kutter however they met the command unit quickly TORR, a massive super mutant cyborg built for seige with powerfists the size of whole men equiped with rocket boosters. Kenny leaped into the fray of the central attrium after Kutter smashed through the door. But after only a few striked he was grappled by TORR who crushed him then threw him back in Kutters face for massive damage. Two assaultrons charged as all six prepared their head laser blasts, the two mauled Kenny then retreated.
  Kutter knew the massive blast that was coming, so he grabbed Kenny and retreated down the hallway reuniting with the others that had trailed behind, with them facing an impossible chokepoint they had to formulate a strategy quickly as TORR was attempting to hack into the facilities systems.
