Ember War

The Ember War took play in the early days of the dragon wars.  Long before Tiamet fell to darkness.  The Ember War is a tail told as time and been warped by years of retelling.   One this is true, the war did happen and it brought a lot of destruction in it wake.    Most version of the event is the Ember King came from a different plane of existence bring with hoards of undead at his command.  Many of them were smart but fully under the Ash King's control.   His undead or what are called Ashfell would attack small villages and cities first.  Either killing or kidnapping the villagers.  Those killed turned into more Ashfell and other use a slave to build armor and weapons for the Ash Kings more powerful forces.  A band of young kids from a town would race the Ashfell guided by a mysterious powerful figure to the capital to raise warn the king of the land of the threat.  This band of kids/adventures would defeat the Ash King.    The remains of the ash king would get locked away to be hidden from the world in an unknown tomb.   Other stories suggest Vecna on his rise to godhood found this tomb and use the essence of the ash king to enchant a sword for Kas his lieutenant.  It is believed the sentence of the sword of Kas is the Ash king himself  The sword was last seen in the hand of a half-dragon during one of the great battles of the dragon war near the end of the dragon age.
