Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a magical talent to be able to tell people's future.   All you need to do is tell them what they want to hear. The cards are just a distraction. A tool to buy you time, to read their faces, their body language, to figure out, why they are truly here. Is it curiosity? Belief? Desperation? Most of the time, people already know the outcome of their situation and when they don't, all they seek is a direction. Someone who would tell them what to do. And it's cheaper to ask the universe and hope it has a handbook for life, than to go to therapy.   No one comes to see a fortune teller to get facts. Except the sceptics. And I knew from the moment Noah walked into Secret Society, that he was one of them. He didn't come to get answers. He came in to test me.   People like that don't usually bother me. It's a great opportunity to waste some time, earn a decent tip and inch a little bit closer to the end of my shift. Why work hard, when you know you cannot convince someone. Even real magic would not convince someone who does not believe in his heart.   The reason why I was unsettled was that he walked directly towards my booth, he did not stop by the barristas, did not order anything, did not look around the stablishment, not even for a second. He knew exactly what he wanted and for some reason that something was at my table.   This alone should have told me that I was about to get in trouble.

This article will be expanded upon as the challenge continues, but will not be available post worldember :)
