The Law

This article is a work in progress, and will be updated with more specifics later. Right now, these are the things you need to know.   In Faetalia, there are certainly rules and specific social practices in place that should be followed. Royals probably have laws they place over the land, as well as just unspoken rules everyone knows to follow. There are knights who ensure that things are kept in order, peace is maintained, and everyone is kept safe. You can read more about the knights here. However, the knights are Not equivalents to cops, and things like cops and prison do not exist to enforce laws. Obviously, there will be consequences should a fairy commit a crime or cause distress to the public or other fairies, but the consequences will not be prison-time, going to court, or being detained by “cops” or in this case the knights. Knights will likely step in to take care of it, but violent responses are always the last resort, and consequences will vary on what crime has taken place.   Most likely, fairies will be given social services meant to aid their path to redemption. This can be like cleaning up litter, helping aid a certain cause, doing time as a knight, and so on and so forth. But Faetalia does not have a prison industrial complex, Faetalia does not have bastard cops, Faetalia doesn't have a court system/lawyers/etc, and Faetalia doesn't have an oppressive system in place in regards to its law. Faetalia is a place where the people's needs are placed first. Obviously, flaws may arise. Crimes will be met with consequences. Some rulers may be more lenient than others. But generally, I don’t want these types of things in my fun fairy land! Obviously if your fairy is out here murdering ten hundred people, sure, there’ll be punishment for that. But it won’t be like DEATH SENTENCE or THOUSAND YEARS PRISON TIME. Rather it will be things that promote change, growth, and more importantly a focus on the victims in these situations, making sure things like this don’t happen again.   Again, this is fun fairy land… not the real world. You’re all stuck in my fun fantasy where I don’t have to be concerned about the shitty things that exist in the real world, and instead come up with alternative fantastical whimsical things instead.
