Townmaster
A town master is a person who serves as an elected leader of a small town or village. They often act as a mediator and judge along with it being their responsibility to keep up with the official town records.
This is different from a mayor in many ways. Though the person is voted upon by the people around them, they hold only as much power as they allow them to hold. They gain no special pay or privileges, they are simply a person that helps with a village's advancement toward a true township. Once that is achieved a council or mayor is voted upon by the denizens.
