Thentia
Thentia is a merchant city in the Moonsea region. It is a merchant city with a focus on trade across the open waters of the Moonsea. In contrast to most of the other city-states in the region, Thentia is a city with a welcoming atmosphere. Nobility in the city had a few benefits, but as a rule were not treated with any particular favour over commoners.
Government
The leadership of Thentia is known as a Watchlord, a mostly symbolic head of state who oversees trade disputes and maintains trade relations with other states. They are elected anually by the city's nobility - a title that is granted upon any family with a recorded history of residency in the city.
The Trade Decrees are the official code of laws in the city and they prescribe a simple mercantile order: no thievery, no fraud, no extortion, or any other form of commercial subversion. As such, thieves' guilds are not allowed to operate inside the city's walls, and any crime is punished harshly. The law itself is upheld by a volunteer city watch of mixed martial and magic ability.
