Session 2: Dragonspine Mountains Mining Expedition
General Summary
Minutes composed by Clover at The Pick in Ilinvur, on Greengrass 12 1497.
Findings
First miner - When we came down in the caverns we immediately found one of the miners. This miner - a dwarf - probably died after falling down into the caverns. We sent him back up immediately. The caverns had a corridor to the east and a corridor to the west.
East corridor - We started the expedition at the east corridor. The floor, walls and ceiling were all sticky because of the Giant Spiders that live there. They approached us more curiously than aggressive. Our druid talked to them for a bit. They were pretty hungry, so we went back before they would try to eat us.
West corridor - When we entered the west corridor we came into a room with a small path next to a ravine and hurricane like wind. We tried to path for a few steps, realised the wind made it very dangerous to just walk around and used Godrics climbing gear to keep moving forward.
Myconids - Most rooms in this corridor had some ravine in there, but without the wind the chance of falling down is a lot smaller. Further down the road there was a colony of Myconids. Their leader had taken the remaining 2 miner bodies to grow new sprouts. After a hard negotiation they would allow us to bring the bodies of the miners back if we could find replacement bodies.
The last two miners - To get the bodies of the other two miners back we decided we would kill some of the spiders. The first three were killed pretty easily, the fourth ran away. We followed it into its nest (which also had a corridor to the Myconids), but there were too many to kill them all. We traded the dead spiders for the dead miners and left the cavern.
Conclusion - While exploring the caverns we mapped them as good as possible. However, the spiders, Myconids, ravines and wind makes it dangerous to be down there. Since we didn't see any ore we advised against mining in the caverns. We mapped the entire cavern and brought back the missing miners, which made this expedition and our first contract a success!
Overview
When we arrived at our new franchise we were welcomed by a local named Godric Snowshoulder. He asked us to investigate the newly unearthed caverns some of his miners fell in.
Client
Godric Snowshoulder
Goals
- Map the new caverns - 200 GP (Godric want us to find out if there is something valuable (to mine))
- Recover the 3 missing miners - 20 GP per found miner
- Godric provides us with transport to the mining expedition as well as the transport back.
- Godric will supply us with climbing gear which might be needed.
- We will not bring more people into the caverns during the expedition.
- Godric is not responsible for any harm that might happen to us during this expedition.
- Godric is not responsible for the wearing down of any of the equipment brought into the caverns, both the equipment we bring ourselves and the equipment he provides for us.
- Any ore or other raw material found in the caverns belongs to Godric. Any items, including but not limited to potions, weapons, armour, jewelry, alchemy supplies, books and food found in the caverns can be brought back by Acquisition Incorporated and are considered a bonus for their hard work.
- Raw, unpolished gemstones belong to Godric, polished gemstones, or unpolished gemstones set in jewelry are for Acquisition Incorporated
