Moon Elf
Moon elves (teu'tel'quessir in Elvish; also known as silver elves) are the most widely spread of the elven races in Faerûn. Many moon elves are nomadic, rarely staying put in one place for more than a year or two. Groups of moon elves join together in loose bands, totalling about a dozen or so extended elven families. These nomadic bands have democratically elected leadership, though elders have stronger voices in decision-making. Due to their nomadic nature, moon elves can be found everywhere across Faerûn. Though wood elves are more populous, they are mostly confined to deep forests, to a non-elf is much more likely to meet the less populous moon elves.
Culturally, moon elves are less solemn and serious than their elven brethren. They are more tolerant of other races, easily integrating into non-elven societies. Due to this, most half-elves are descended from moon elves. Moon elf songs and poetry tends to be lighter and more humorous than other elven art.
During times of trouble, moon elves can be as serious as other elves, though they retain their optimism and sense of humour. Democratic governance gives way to singular war leaders, using precise weapons and magic to defend themselves and others. Moon elves are also the most likely of all elves to become adventurers, typically as wandering protectors of common folk, instead of dungeon-plundering monster hunters.
