Born into a faith he originally denied, Thurmond sar Ragna did not get to know what would have been his childhood home, as his parents left Iandas for Kusan, Toré shortly after he was born. As he grew older, the distance between him and his father, a gambling (the thus far unknown reason for many of their troubles) grew greater, eventually leading Thurmond to abandon his fathers, renaming himself Sebastian after a personal hero. After the death of his father, the little support he had been providing for him and his mother stopped, and he found himself in need of money.   Always being bigger than others, Sebastian turned to boxing, bouncing, muscle work and the like. However, the debt proved far too much for even this honest work to pay off, and he quickly found himself getting involved with the scummier part of society. For years he would work off this debt to insure the safety of his mother, who would always remind a young Sebastian that "Thor will always watch over you. Never stop smiling." Which would eventually prove all too true.   As all things must come to an end, Sebastian questioned what he would do with his life after the debt was cleared. So far he had lived his life to either please others or to help others. Turning to his friend/ bosses son, Flynn, he questioned how he could be happy living in his father's shadow. Flynn's answer would stay with Sebastian for the rest of his life "Just because I got what I have from my father, it is still mine. What I choose to do with it and what I make of it is my decision, and mine alone." A message Sebastian needed shortly after this conversation.   Having cleared his mothers debt shortly before she passed away, Sebastian kept working for his friends father until he figured out what he would do. But on a night he will never forget, they took it too far for him. Sebastian never had any problems breaking the law before, but when innocents were involved, he wouldn't be. Finding out about a robbery turned murder, he thought surely they would regret such a thing, but they did not. Drinking, singing, and laughing over a "job well done" it made Sebastian snap. In a rage he attacked the gang of over 20 people, but soon found himself outmatched. He could not let them win, or get away with what they had done. Thinking about the only two people who had mattered to him this far, he recalled his mother's words, and then Flynn's. "Thor give me strength!" and strength he got. A power he had never known pulsed through him, and after what seemed like no time at all, stood over the bodies of those he knew needed to be punished. Justice had been served.   And that is when the smile came, the one that hasn't left since.
