Crabs
Brief Overview
Crabs is a sexually transmitted parasite. The parasite protects its host's genitals, as they are very territorial and they consider the genitals to be their territory. These crabs are not normal crabs as they are directly descended from the Holy Mother Crab. The crabs are sentient beings and can either like or dislike their host. They will like their host more if the host feeds them.Transmission & Vectors
Crabs are transmitted sexually, though not all intercourse with a host of a crab will lead to getting crabs.
Symptoms
The first symptom is that whenever a hand comes near the genitals, the crab will reach out and pinch.
Treatment
There is no cure. However, to make the condition more manageable, it is recommended to feed the crab. Also the crab may choose to leave.
If a crab has solidified, the host must go to the Holy Mother Crab to ask for its removal.
Prognosis
If a child receives a crab from birth, the crab will remain on the child's head until puberty where the crab will then migrate south.
Young crabs make their homes in the pubic hairs of the host.
If the crab grows large enough and stays on a male's genitalia it will emerge from the pubic hairs and wrap around the shaft of the genitals. It will then continue to solidify until becoming part of the host.
If the host is female, once the crab grows large enough it will rest over the entrance of the genitals and feeds off of menstrual blood.
Affected Groups
Nearly everyone can be affected, with the exception of merpeople.
Prevention
One way to prevent getting Crabs is by not having sex.
Epidemiology
Crabs is a form of STD. It can only be passed through sexual intercourse. The crab quite literally moves from one person to the other and can only reproduce when housed in the female genitalia. Females can transmit multiple crabs. It can also be passed on to children through childbirth.
Cultural Reception
The condition is not frowned upon as it cannot really be controlled and the crabs are holy, however the hosts do not speak publicly or take pride in the crab.
