Hommlet (Post-Rend)

Turrim's Tower

The door to the tower is in place, but upon close inspection if can be seen that the hinges were broken. A tug on the door and it will fall out of it's place. Inside, on quick inspection the tower looks to be ransacked. There is debris strewn about, but some things are intact. It was a struggle, not a search. The lens is missing, as is Ezra. However, there is a locked chest intact in Turrim's bedroom. The key to the chest is hidden in Sparhawk's room (in the alter). The chest contains Devic's spellbook and 80% of the coin.

Searching for answers

The Grove - Upon entering the grove, it is immediately apparent that something is wrong. On previous visits the plants were vibrant, flowers blooming, and naturally under control. Now, vines are are creeping all over, flowers are wilting and the green of the trees have dulled.  You never entered Jaroo's cabin previously, but it's a small, sparse space... what is there is out of sorts. The place is a mess, much like the tower.     The Tower - The basement will show some evidence of the lens being rolled into the cave. With an Investigation or Survival check (DC 20) it seems like it goes right into the wall. No amount of searching or digging will evident a door.     Moathouse - Goblinoids have started to squat in the Moathouse, but there is no evidence of other activity. Anytime the party shows up there are 1d10+2 Goblins, 1d4+1 Bugbears, and 1 Hobgoblin.      Ruins of Caldoon - Part of the work overseen by Ezra was blazing a trail through the forest to the ruins. Travel is easier and one is less likely to get lost. At the ruins, one room beyond the room that was previously discovered has been excavated. The work seems to be well done with scafalding and reinforced, but work seems to have stopped before any real progress could be made. The new room seems to be an empty chamber, maybe a receiving room as it does have a fireplace and several exits.      Missing Caravan - If asked, Elmo will tell the party he could use some help. He was contacted by Avantino Arachni of the Merchant's Guild in Bedigar. A merchant caravan destined for Hommlet has not returned and he asked on their well being. Elmo believes they never arrived. He doesn't have time to worry about another town's problems. He will give the party the letter if they desire. Is is happy to be rid of it.

NPC Updates

Oen - Business hasn't been the best since the party left Hommlet. After the Black Thorns left, traveler numbers have been on the decline. Rumor is that Kaan has closed their borders and Lord Regent Saxton is cautioning citizens to remain in Suu. Hommlet's trader tyically comes from those traveling between the baronies. She's having trouble making the building payments to the town and may have to move on soon.    Jaroo - He's missing. The grove looks unkempt, and his cabin is a mess.   Mayor Rufus Albrech - He is anxious, but doing what he can to stay possitive. Kaan closing their border and starting to mobilize it's army troubles him greatly. He has ordered Elmo to keep the militia on short notice and hold trainings on a more regular basis. He has also began clearing room in his home and stocking up on food and supplies. He feels something is coming and wants to be prepared. He'll feel better once the keep is completed, if they're able to use it. He's not sure, the Regent may fill it with soldiers. Jaroo and Ezra going missing is worrying.    Reeve Elmo - Elmo has been very busy. He can't spare any time worrying about general safety or crime, it's all about militia readiness. He runs drills every few days and keeps in constant contact with all the members, making sure they're ready to go on a moment's notice. He's asked for Cleric Calmet to cease all temple bells, instead only ringing them in the even of militia call to action. He has little opinion on what happened in Suu. He has a job to do and he'll do it. He's make peace with the fact that his bother is likely not coming back.   Ostler - He's trying to be happy. The tavern is still fairly busy, but he can see the decline and is afraid it could continue. He is looking for alternate revenue streams and wouldn't mind finding a buyer for his house wine elsewere in Suu.    Grenna and Rannos Davi - They are doing surprising well. If asked they'll say their business is strong and they seem to have plenty of inventory. They'll buy at 70% and sell at 120%. They may try to pump the group for info.   Cleric Calmet - He's more confident than last seen. He has taken to his roll as a town leader. The townfolk have been very commited to attending services during this troubling time. He will ask Sparhawk about the sigal on his armor. He'll ask which saint and get awkward if Sparhawk admits its another god. He has also made peace with Cleric Raman not returning. Her presence is still missed in the town, but St. Zeller tells us that our duty calls us to move forward. Praise Baba Mavi. If the temple is searched, a parchment listing and describing magic users in the town can be found. If confronted, he sees nothing wrong. The Council asked for a list from all Clerics.
