Greensedge

NPCs:

Mayor Brisbane- A well off gentleman who fancies himself a noble because he was appointed as Greensedge mayor by a Lord. He is a pleasant fellow, but has a tendency to talk down to others. Even though he can be off putting in his demeanor, he seems competent in his role.       Innkeeper Marric Hillbottom- Halfling man of stout nature who owns and runs The Gilded Lily. His wife, Maryland, serves as the cook. They employ several serving wenches and their young son, Thomas, is usually caught trying to lift their skirts while busing tables.       Moneychanger Rikkon Gilter- Banker, moneychanger and jeweler who owns a partial stake in the local gem mine. He is a fastidious, older man who walks with a cane. Unlike the mayor, Rikkon does have noble blood in his lineage, but cares little about it. He employs a hidden safe system to protect the assets of his customers. He has four half-orc bodyguards that work in rotation around the clock. He will buy jewels and artifacts at 85% value and sell them at 110%. He will store up to 20lbs of items for 5gp/month.       Blacksmith Gwen Surefist (Battlesmith Artificer)- Tall human woman in her late 30's with short blond hair. She is exceptionally skilled and well versed in metallurgy, alchemy, and some magic. She would be a capable adventurer if it interested her. She is perfectly happy serving the people of Greensedge and it's visitors. She is exceedingly friendly, but has no patience for anyone wasting her time. She grew up in Greensedge as an orphan, raised by the late Cleric Hornsbee and his acolytes. She does NOT like Blacksmith Wilhelm from Leafside, considers him an embarrassment to their profession. Will warn anyone who bought from him of possible issues with the item.       Cleric Naan Gallo (Life Cleric)- A young man in his early 20's, Cleric Gallo has been the cleric in town for three years. It was his first placement after the death of the much loved Cleric Hornsbee. Gallo tends to over do it while trying to be friendly, hoping the towns folk will love him as much as his predecessor. He is a Cleric of St. Hillenbrand (NG Charity Saint of Ruh). He runs his chapel as an orphanage, continuing the good of Hornsbee. He is intimidated by Gwen, but also has a crush on her.       Merchant Tor Hornsbee (Mastermind Rogue)- Brother of the late cleric who moved to Greensedge when his brother was placed there. He's a half-elf with dark hair and a pleasing demeanor, a friend to all. He has a sizable shop and also owns a large warehouse in town. His warehouse acts as a distribution center for this part of the barony, and also conducts trade with Suu. He has two elvin wives (Lorian & Nythal) who are both exceedingly gorgeous and physically look to be half his age. They both have the same friendly vibe that makes buying from them feel right. **Tor is also a smuggler of contraband into and out of the other baronnies.       Farmer Thad Plowman- Multi-generational farmer that can trace his family back many generations in Greensedge. Hardworking man with a large family. He has a wife (June), five sons, and four daughters. Most of the farmers keep to themselves, but Thad is willing to talk. He is fascinated by adventurers and his family has hosted many over the generations, collecting their stories into a large tome.       Reeve Harlan Offhand (Battlemaster Fighter)- Leader of the City Watch and Greensedge Militia in times of need. Harlan is a seasoned soldier who has retired for the 'quiet life' as the town constable. He always has a glove on his right hand, as it is a fake. He lost his hand in battle and was forced to relearn his short sword with his left hand.       Foreman Xavia Weaver- Half-elf leader at the mine. She is always tired looking and has little patience for anyone. She submits her earnings and books to her bosses and doesn't care how it's accomplished.

Buildings:

The Gilded Lily- Large Tavern/Inn that usually has a bard for entertainment.       The Mayor's Home/Office- An ornate house with a large meeting chamber. The house doubles as a city hall.       City Watch/Jail- The city watch has a small office with a single jail cell. The local Reeve lives in an apartment above the office.       The Laden Mule General Store- See sheet for the large inventory       Tor's Warehouse- Large warehouse owned by the proprietor of The Laden Mule. Patrolled by private guards.       A Safe Bet Deposits and Finery- Jewelry shop, moneychanger, and bank vault. This will likely be the finest shop the adventurers have been in.       Surefist Armory- Blacksmith shop with a good selection of weapons and armor. Magic items may be available for order.       Plowman's Stables- Stable services and sales managed by the Plowman's eldest son (Caleb).       Chapel of St. Hillenbrand- The chapel itself is small and meager, but the building as a whole is anything but. Cleric Gallo lives on site and cares for several orphans that live in a large boarding room in the back.       Delian Mine- Near the town is a gem mine that is mostly owned by the barony. Rekkon Gilter has a 10% stake in return for overseeing local operations. Several miners live at the mine, but seem to think their jobs are drying up due to the arrival of The Alchemist.

Hooks:

Delian Mine: The party can get hooks into the mine by either Mayor Brisbane or Rikkon Gilter. The Mayor is worried about the recent issues with the water supply. He heard that the mine brought in a Alchemist Gnome, and you get the feeling that he's using gnome like a slur. He doesn't trust the whole situation and if the party proves competent, may ask them to check it out. Other people in the town will complain about the water, but will not connect it to the mine. There have also been some small earthquakes that townsfolk and the Mayor may mention. Rikkon, having a monetary stake, is worried about the mine. The foreman went above his head and brought in an Alchemist to help the struggling mine. Over the last ten years the mine has practically ran dry. It was once one of the most prosperous mines in Kurt, so much that Suu fought several times for control, succeeding a few times for a number of years. Knowing that magically altering the gems can make them less desirable for magic infusion, Rikkon, may ask you to help him protect his investment.   Run the Mapvember-Pit.pdf   LOOT from Alchemist: Javelin of Lightning, Eyes of Minute Seeing, Unbreakable Arrow, Bag of Critters.   Smuggling Rumor: Blacksmith Gwen, Cleric Gallo, and Foreman Xavia may all talk about rumors of contraband moving through Greensedge into Suu. There is very little other information, just rumors.   Trouble in Orlane: Bren, a customer at Surefist, can be heard talking to Gwen about strange letters from her sister(Dairy Farmer, Nev Graven) in Orlane. People are leaving town or going missing for several days at a time without explanation. Bren wishes there was something she could do.   Nighthawk: You see some kids playing, one is wielding a toy bow made from a long stick and some string. He is wearing a black cape and a makeshift black mask. They are playing a game that the boy in the mask is a hero defeating one of the other children while saving the younger kids. If approached, the kids will find it funny that you haven't heard of the Nighthawk. He is a fictional hero the children talk about. A master archer who saves people in need. He strikes from the darkness and returns there after he has prevailed. The children believe in him. Adults will laugh, saying it's just a fairy tale.
