Way Point Stones

Way point stones are the focus of an area that allows passage from the fae realm to the mortal realm or vice versa. While not technically a vehicle, they DO facilitate travel from one realm to another or travel from one area on a realm to another area on that same realm. They require invocation or activation by a mage or a person who understands how the way points work. The stones are not the mechanism for travel as much as the area imbued with the magic facilitates the travel.    Way points can be used by a single person or a large group of people. In France, on the mortal side, an entire army of dwarves passed through a way point, but were turned to stones by the magic of Titania, thereby thwarting an invasion on the mortal side. (See Carnac stones). The stones have since been enchanted by Titania to not allow such a large number of individuals to go through way points agaon without dire consequence such as being turned to stone. All on the fae realm side know this and abide by it.    While the way points are the preferred method of travel, some individuals have items that allow them to travel from one plane to the other. Pocket way points if you will. These items are charged for a round trip, though many lose their magic once activated and the person is stranded unless they can get to a reghular way point to get home.

Power Generation

Magic is what powers the areas of crossing over from the fae realm and back again. This magic was in place before magicians knew how to use magic. They predate humans and residents of the fae realm.

Propulsion

Invocation at the way point will enable a person to cross over from one realm to the other. Occasionally, an item can be attuned to allow passage, though these items are rare and often are one way tickets to the other realm.

Weapons & Armament

The way points are not weaponized, though there has been myth of people invoking the stone incorrectly and not returing or showing up at their destination.

Armor and defense

The only 'armor' the way points have are the guards on the fae realm side (Spriggan ). On the mortal side, police and archeologists are the only guards arounbd the way points, though very few mortals if any know what the way points are and how to activate them. There is also the occasional tourist at the stone, enjoying a sweet treat.

Communication Tools & Systems

There are no communication means on the way point stones.

Sensors

Way point stones will glow under the right circumstance when they are activated. Several scholars say the color and intensity of the glow can indicate who is using the stone. But this is not an exact science as of yet. One thing they DO agree upon is that the brighter the glow, the stronger the magic of the person using it or the larger the number about to come through it.

Additional & auxiliary systems

The marker at a way point is merely a focus and if it happens to be destroyed or defaced, the magic powering the way point still functions.

Hangars & docked vessels

Way point stones can be linked for fast travel from one to another through one realm. A way point stone in Cleveland can be linked to one in California, then Japan, then China then through to Egypt. This method of travel is not used very often on the mortal realm and only in extreme emergencies.
