Crown of Thirteen Heavens

The symbol of office for the great emperors of Old Eyn. It is said that none can truly claim to rule over Eynor without wearing it, which poses a problem for upstart conquerors as it has been broken for centuries untold.   The crown is a heavy band of platinum which is inlaid with golden gilt in intricate maze patterns and interlaced triquetra knots. A long, thin gauze of shining quicksilver hangs down from the back and sides of the crown. There are thirteen empty sockets within the crown's band which were where the fabled Stones of Heaven once sat.   Those who attempt to hold the crown describe it as being almost too heavy to lift, as could be expected from such a large band pf metal. This is in stark contrast to how it was described in antiquity to be "as a feather". This is usually ascribed to the fact that the crown was broken when the thirteen Stones of Heaven were stolen from it.

Stones of Heaven

The thirteen Stones of Heaven are especially large Nightstones that are said to embody the power and essence of the thirteen Zodiacs. They once sat within the band of the Crown of the Thirteen Heavens, but were stolen by an unknown hand and since lost. The origins of the stones are a matter of speculation. Some stories believe that they were retrieved from the burning hearts of the thirteen Styrcedon volcanoes. Others assert that they were once the brightest stars in each of the thirteen Zodiacs and were plucked out of the skies by the first emperor.
