A war was waged between the Kingdom of Lorth’elon and the Varin Empire. Before the war the Varin Empire and the Kingdom of Lorth’elon were cordial allies, but their diplomacy had begun to fade as the Empire began to adopt more and more the Church of Apostasy’s teachings. 

In 2025, King Bravos Varin of the Empire declared war on the Kingdom of Lorth’elon, citing a failed assasination attempt on him and his daughter Hildia. The Kingdom of Lorth’elon continues to deny their involvement in the assasination attempt. 

The war lasted seven years, ending after a magical disaster occurred during a battle. The explosion took the life of the Pontifex Dogan, and in the process created the Deadwastes which scar the land between Osirin and Elderan. This led to both sides declaring peace, and signing an uneasy truce, though official tensions are still high to this day.
