The Divine Gate

The Divine Gate is a magical barrier that surrounds the Material Plane, created by the Gods after the Fall of Arcanum.   The Divine Gate prevents the Gods from being able to physically influence the Material Plane, and makes it difficult for powerful beings, such as Quasi-Deities (Archevils or Archfey) to cross into the Material Plane.   The Divine Gate also cuts off Exorsia from the higher echelons of magic (9th level), making magic more difficult to learn and preventing mortals from being able to return to the height of their destructive power, as they did during the Age of Arcanum.
