Disaster / Destruction
Over 30 thousand people are killed by a devastating terrorist attack resulting in the destruction of the decommissioned ISS landmark. The attack is attributed to a Russian member of the Eastern Union, who claimed that it was uninvolved, and refused to provide a public apology.
The explosion, visible to most of North America, caused innumerable amounts of debris to fly unpredictably in Earth's orbit. One large piece of debris landed in the Atlantic Ocean near Morocco, Africa. Within the first days of the attack, 12 private stations were catastrophically destroyed, and thousands more were damaged by the debris. The attack ultimately resulted in low-earth orbit being declared unsafe for populated stations. The attack was attributed to a Russian member of the Eastern Union council based on recovered video footage. The EU however claimed that they were uninvolved, and that the attack must have been independently organized.
