Scientist: Geomatics and Excavation

Role: As with all scientists, the G&E profession excels in exploration and party support. They're responsible for scouting, pathfinding, survival, and gathering. This role would be most similar to a "Ranger" class in a fantasy setting. They locate and obtain important resources like food, ores, and water, that are necessary for the survival of the party, they scout out potential threats to the party and maintain over-watch, and deploy advanced tools to maintain security and logistics for the party. They're also responsible for excavation of alien ruins and ores, making them a core part of any subterranean groups, providing utility support in the form of gadgets, tools, explosives, and other compounds, and scavenging/gathering important resources for the party, making them the most versatile 'looter' role.
