The great desert the lies over the brown mountains is inhospitable and considered mostly uninhabitable. It is rumored that a great empire once sat there, but the sands of time have long since washed it away. Travelers are advised to avoid the desert not just because of the harsh conditions, but also the violent denizens that somehow manage to scrap out an existence there.
