Ulrath Draz'Valorr
Ulrath Draz’Valorr is a cunning and ambitious Draconblood noble from the city of Xarzith Kitril, whose wealth and influence extend far beyond the glittering halls of his cliffside estate. Born without prestige or privilege to one of the lesser branches of the Valorr Dynasty in Xarzith Kitril, Ulrath clawed his way into wealth not through military or political triumph, but through calculated investments in the darker corners of commerce: gambling, smuggling, and black market artifact trade.
In Vuudrav's Landing, a trade-heavy port city at the mouth of the Dreemoth Ravine, Ulrath established himself as a controlling force behind the scenes, running contraband operations from the shadows while appearing in public as a magnanimous benefactor of local businesses. His influence is cemented through coin and cruelty: he funds exclusive gambling houses like The Devil’s Grin through criminal intermediaries such as the Tiefling Kessik Vallmark, and protects his ventures with private Ravenite guards - hardened enforcers known for their loyalty and brutality.
Despite his surface dealings, Ulrath’s power is rumored to stem from a darker allegiance. Whispers in the underworld of Vuudrav's Landing speak of Ulrath’s connection to an ancient demon of greed and domination, possibly an exiled Abyssal power banished from the Betrayer Gods’ courts. While his public persona is one of beneficence, his estate above Vuudrav’s iron mines is said to house secret chambers where captives vanish without a trace. Ulrath's Ravenite guards act not just as muscle, but as collectors, bringing him unknowns and undesirables who are never seen again. Whether these victims feed some infernal pact or serve another purpose remains speculation, but few doubt the rumors.
Despite his grotesque appetite and lavish tastes, Ulrath is far from a fool; he is a calculating predator who uses charm, corruption, and brute strength in equal measure. His influence stretches like a shadow across the cliffs of Vuudrav’s Landing, and crossing him often means vanishing into that shadow forever, and his unchecked growth in both coin and cruelty suggests he may be positioning himself not just as a criminal kingpin, but as something far more dangerous: a power broker between mortal realms and fiendish patrons, thriving in the shadows left by empire and chaos.
