The original expedition, launched over two centuries ago, unearthed something of great importance before vanishing into obscurity. Only the recent discovery of a lost journal has rekindled Grevin’s pursuit of this mystery. But this is no spontaneous obsession. This effort is the latest in a pattern; a subtle, years-long sequence of movements and acquisitions that hint at a larger, tightly woven agenda.

The immediate obstacle to Grevin’s plan is a Dwarven monk named Corda - a clever fugitive with ties to criminal networks and a mind honed by both monastic discipline and survival instinct. Corda stole the key maps and vanished, only to surface in chains at Wintermire Asylum, a remote and icy prison. Even incarcerated, her influence persists, and Grevin believes she alone holds the knowledge needed to access the vault that protects the expedition’s lost secrets. But brute force is not Grevin’s way. He seeks persuasion over coercion, a subtle hand to draw Corda out, and has chosen Malric Kindhell, someone with a personal history Grevin seems to know too much about, to undertake this delicate task.
