Suria Dwendal

Suria was born in the noble House Saugiss, to Lord Carsten Saugiss and Lady Jolina Saugiss. She was the eldest child of the family, and older sister to Brundul Saugiss. From her childhood, Suria has become accustomed carrying the responsibilities and weight of her family name. Like many nobles within Rexxentrum, she has magic talents but is far more familiar in navigating politics over arcana.   She courted Crown Prince Eidys Dwendal as a suitable match. Suria succeeded in cultivating a relationship with the prince over her various competitors, leading to their marriage and her status as princess of the Dwendalian Empire. This marriage filled Suria with pride, since she was bringing honor to her own family. Over the years Suria and Eidys have shown problems conceiving children. This fact deteriorated the relationship between the prince and his father, who had already become more cold after the death of Queen Duvia in 825 PD.   By 835 PD, Suria has been feeling the pressure continue to mount over her shoulders. She has fallen out of favor with the king. Though Eidys and Suria have maintained their relationship, it has become more strained between the two of them. Eidys has become bitter and less interested in politics or inheriting the throne, which has caused Suria great concern over her station. Suria feels the pressure over her shoulders, and refuses to give up, seeking solutions for the lack of fertility in her marriage, no matter how unnatural they might be. She is ambitious and wants to raise her family status by becoming Queen of the Dwendalian Empire.   Alongside her family, Suria has been reaching out to those who she believes may be able to help with her situation, even willing to offer a large sum of gold and magic items. After Brundul attended the Heroes of the Coast tournament, Suria gave her approval in his decision to bring aboard Invictus FISH as one such team. While the party was in Rexxentrum, a meeting was organized between the princess and them for the sake of understanding her situation better. The princess informed them that she has several consistent retainers in her service, who she trusts in regards to her safety. In addition, many of her day to day servants were investigated when the initial concerns were revealed regarding the royal couple's inability to produce an heir. She doesn't believe she was poisoned due to the difficulty of that happening and the various magics that were applied to her during her check-ups. Princess Suria held no suspicions over her husband, though she did seem frustrated at his drift away from political matters. The party ascertained that Suria is too ambitious to let go of the throne and is worried that this situation will push her family out of political favor.
