Sariel

Sariel was a celestial under the service of the goddess, Ioun for many years. Eventually, during the Age of Arcanum he was bound to the service of an archmage, Cadius. Based on his descriptions, it does not seem that this service was forced or painful. Rather, it seemed to be a willful employment under the archmage, who was a great mage and worshipper of Ioun. During the events of the Calamity, Sariel participated as part of the forces of the archmage against the Betrayer Gods and their followers. Considering the historical records uncovered by Invictus FISH, it is possible that Sariel participated in Cadius' assault against the Witch-King. Events in the Calamity led to the angel being mostly slain and destroyed, but he had left a fragment of his power behind to watch over a vault, which survived through the years.   The vault was uncovered by Invictus FISH when they were facing off against a mutated chimera. They choose to take cover in the underground tunnel to recover their strength, from where Sariel appeared and greeted them. Seeing their predicament, Sariel offered the party the chance to undertake the challenges left by Cadius. These challenges were meant to gauge the character and capabilities of later individuals, and for those who were worthy, they would be bestowed treasures. Sariel guided the party through the challenges, being more of a facilitators and giving little advice to the party. Following their completion, Sariel shared some of his own and Cadius' history with the party. He provided the party with advice on what items may prove the most useful against the chimera. Sariel also mentioned that their were more complex and dangerous challenges, with greater rewards to be provided upon their completion. He is believed to be remaining as guardian of the vault, unable to move away from the location he was bound to.
