Cyrengreen Forest
Geography
The Cyrengreen Forest is an extensive woodland area that lies just south of Deastok on the eastern edge of the Cyrios Mountains, stretching all the way from Deastok almost to the Wuyun Gates. The forest is beautiful if somewhat ominous. On its edges it is green and lush with a soft forest floor beneath a beautiful canopy. A few more miles in and it becomes darker, with the branches more intertwined, and the sounds of wildlife getting more prominent. There are also many abandoned cabins seen throughout the woods, even in the deeper portions, and are seen as a sign of bad luck.
Ecosystem
There are sightings of many dangerous creatures within these woods. Many monstrosities and beasts have made these forests their home, only growing in size and danger the deeper into the forest. Rumors and stories suggest dangerous fey and shapeshifters lurk in the deep regions of the woods.
History
The forest is the second-largest source of lumber in the empire, with logging companies from Deastok and Trostenwald working the north and south sides, respectively. Most logging is limited to the outer tree line due to dangers in the shady interior of the Cyrengreen. The lush heart of the forest is home to some wilder families who brave the dangers of the forest to live a freer life, as the tax reapers are reticent to visit too often
