Ashguard Garrison
Demographics
The Ashguard garrison is currently under the control of the Kryn forces, so many of the soldiers within its walls are the Aurora Watch drow troops of the Empire. There are other soldiers and civilians here as well, to maintain the massive fort against attacks. The population is roughly 72% drow, 12% goblinoids, 8% orcish, and and 8% other races. Most of the population are soldiers here to defend the garrison against the Imperial forces.
Government
The garrison is currently being helmed by the leader of the Kryn forces stationed there. Orders from Rosohna are most likely being sent to help direct the attention of the forces stationed here.
Defences
The vast majority of the occupants are frontline soldiers and deadly combatants. Mobile siege engines stand at the ready. The Ashguard garrison is a large fort, meant to hold the eastern side of the Empire. It has large thick walls, large weaponry, barricades, etc., all with the space to house thousands of troops. Now that it is under the control of the Kryn Dynasty, the fort has gained additional defensive measures facing westward. The Aurora Watch forces are working to ensure that retaking the fort is as difficult as possible for the Imperial forces. In addition, the fort is currently under complete darkness, making it an eerie sight from a distance.
History
The garrison, along with its sister outpost the Rockguard Garrison, was constructed under the direction and oversight of Martinet Ludinus Da'leth when he became Archmage of Domestic Protections.
The Ashguard Garrison fell to the Kryn Dynasty in early Fessuran 835 PD, triggering the official start of the War of Ash and Light. Thousands of troops died when the Kryn launched a surprise attack against the garrison, darkening its skies and utilizing underground tunnels to come from below the defenses.
