Criminal Activity
Ragnarok became the first true supervillain of our time. He cemented his name in history through a string of truly heinous acts.
The answer to that “what if” came in 1990, when “Ragnarok” appeared. The name which would later strike fear into any resident of our little green planet wouldn’t have been known that year, as at that time he was still working on small heists and conducting minor attacks. It wasn’t until 1991 that the American, British, and Canadian governments started noticing the increasing amount of incidents in their territories and linked them together to a cell of Evos lead by one unknown person. All they had on the group was their name, the Chaos League. In 1993, Ragnarok would appear before the entire world and cement his name into the minds of the hundreds of millions watching on national television as he tore out Globes heart while floating above a ruined landscape once known as Denver. Globe, the British EA who had been picked to take the mantle of strongest Evo from Titan who was expecting to retire in the near future, was dropped onto the cracked pavement like so much dirty laundry. Turning to the last cameraman who would not stop recording, black hazy eyes stared back at the world and spoke for the first time, in a voice that many would called “elegant and terrifying.” The War on Ragnarok lasted for six years after that day, as Governments called on their EA’s and military to fight the growing forces of the Chaos League in major cities, jungles, deserts, fields across the world. Millions died in the conflict, and no part of the world was left untouched as the unbound League could transport all over the world with the assistance of their Evos. Cities like Paris, Birmingham, San Francisco, Shanghai, and dozens more were turned into rubble and ash after each engagement. For the first time the Evo’s Scale was used, ranking the power an Evo’s could exhibit based on the most powerful of them all, Ragnarok, Rank 10. Below that were ranks 1 through 9, despite the wishes of billions for someone more powerful from the demon who held the world hostage. The Government Agent Evos, along with a few freelanced vigilanties, formed an alliance called The Union, and on October 6 to 12, 1998, after years of tracking, fighting, and data collecting, a final battle was waged across Illinois between the League and Union. The second iconic image featuring Evos was made, this time as a photograph of the bloodied and broken Titan standing over the body of Chaos with a steel girder through his chest.
“This is what the world sends after me? A boy playing a hero. This is a waste. A tragic and unnecessary loss of talent. Sadly, that is the norm in our modern society. The bright and gifted being culled on behalf of the worthless scraps. In every nation, young people march, fight, and die for change from the Civil Rights movement to wars fought for reasons well beyond their understanding; only to see the world keep on rotating without any change as the Dregs rule ignorant of their spilled blood. I can’t allow this to stand any longer. The world needs to change, and it appears as God has chosen me to change it. God or gods, depending on where you’re seeing this from I suppose. Regardless, each religion has their end times written in their holy scripture. And here the end times has arrived. I am the Ragnarok. And I have come to change this world.” - Ragnarok, June 1, 1993
