Saturday evening

The Port, Port Victoria
Less than a mile from shore.

Father, Callixtus VI Summanus

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.”   As the moon waned the night grew darker. The sky clear, and the water inky and black. Yet the good father still stood. Alone atop his boat, eyes closed while his mind opened. Sweat poured off his brow dripping onto the bow of the ship with crackling sizzle. Clutching tight to his Bokken Cal raised his arms up bring the wooden blade above his head before striking back down. Upon the downswing his body went alight. Illuminating the water around him as he forced the angel to the surface. Electricity poured from his body as the sword reached the apex of his downswing only to quickly slink back into his skin.   “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”   Another strike. Lighting sparking off the sweat dripping down Cal's forearms tendrils of electricity pulsing from the seat at his feet to his skin. Sparkling across him likes webs.   “Give me this my strength and forgive this lonely sinner for his path to redemption is soaked in the blood of the guilty.”   Another slash the wooden blade glowing before igniting in flames. Unable to stand the heat of electricity. A blazing torch swung wild in the dead of night Casting shadows of glory across the inky depths. Cal barely noticed lost in this mantra.   “Lead me not to temptation, but deliver evil upon to me. Hail Mary, full of grace. Guide me Baraqiel full of strength. Let glory be the path I walk, and grace the path I lay behind.”   The last swing there was a pop, it wasn’t going to be the last. But as the wooden blade exploded in a shower of splinters and shards. The wooden hilt in Cal's hand burning like a small torch the good father had to accept this as a sign to end for the night.   “Amen.”
