Description

Kazan is a well built warrior. He is a calm, well spoken man, with an empathetic mannerism. He walks with a confidence, a dangerous aura flows him.  

History

Birthplace: Yamaoka Estate, Japan
Family: Parents: Lord and Lady Yamaoka (both dead)
Education: Raised in nobility, he was taught to wield a sword by masters, and was taught privately academics.   Backstory:
Kazan Yamaoka was born into nobility, what little that meant anymore. His family defends from a line of Samurai, Japan's mythological warriors. Little more than bandits, with impunity. Kazan was fascinated with the stories, the honor bound warriors, and believed that modern 'Samurai' were nothing more than imposters, posers. Fools that dishonored generations of history and bloodshed. Kazan took the Katana that mounted above his father's study. An ancient weapon passed down for many decades, centuries even. Masterfully crafted, he set out to use it, seeing it collecting dust as a distasteful waste. He travelled to any remaining Dojos or historical sites, ignoring the code that had been taught to him, Kazan killed impostors in the hills and the valleys, on the beaches and in the woodland. The killings were brutal, cruel and morbid. He humiliated farmers and warriors alike, yanking off their topknots and stripping them of their armor, or Kimono. His rage, bloodlust and perverse sense of honor knew no bounds. People soon learned of the streak, and the superstitious began to rise, he gained a reputation as a vengeful spirit, bringing justice to those that abandoned tradition. He was given the moniker, 'Oni-Yamaoka,' the rageful Samurai. This was the greatest dishonor his family had ever seen. The name confused, how could the man that purified the name of 'Samurai' be called an Ogre? Bitter, lost and disillusioned, Kazan roamed the land aimlessly with his father's voice rattling in his head, taunting him, reminding him of his failures, sending him into fits of uncontrollable rage. One day, walking in the woods, Kazan happened upon an Oni statue. He stopped and stood motionless for a long moment. The weathered and overgrown statue seemed to be ridiculing him, accusing him of being the impostor samurai he had so desperately sought to destroy. The rain was falling hard, and he looked, a puddle seemed to almost call to him. There he saw it, his reflection, he was no longer human, but an Oni, a monster. The blood he shed fueled his rage, he had become far worse than those he set out to destroy. The disgust he felt, the sadness, his family has disowned him, he was hated by the public and viewed as a demon. He was an Ogre, ugly and disfigured by hatred. This day would mark the end of his killings, he fled the country, leaving to a place he learned of where he could disappear, and began to dedicate his life to self defense and saving the weak, to pay penance for his horrific deeds.
