He's Just a Vagrant Boy No One Will Miss Him

Yūki Mizuki's Apartment, Downtown

Lunchtime was winding down in the restaurant, with the last few customers leaving by now. As they went, Takeshi Mizuki offered them false smiles and well-wishes from behind the counter. Well, maybe not entirely false. The business his family ran as a front wasn't so bad, all things considered. But low risk meant low reward, and Takeshi was a bold one. That, as well as impatient, and the news from last night had his blood boiling even after several hours and a good night's sleep on top of it. He'd been working with idiots his whole life, but this was something else. He watched a waitress - his middle child, Yūki - see one more set of customers out, then rather conspicuously motioned her to come over, which she hurriedly did. Leading the way, he headed for the privacy of the staff area and their living quarters above.Yūki Mizuki
...And that's that shift. Time for some rest and... Nevermind. She gave a quick nod at her father's cue and followed him upstairs. Somewhat unsurprisingly they entered the office where her latest nocturnal assignments where often discussed. Being summoned like this was rarely an indication of simple father-daughter small talk, after all. "What is it, Father?" She asked simply, the enthusiasm she'd displayed downstairs already all but gone from her voice. She wasn't exactly looking forward to a sleepless night if that was to be expected.Storyteller
Takeshi frowned slightly as he opened a laptop and brought up relevant information, soon waving her over to have a look. "Some of our boys came under attack last night. Not by some rival group, mind you - at least we think the guy works alone. A self-proclaimed evo vigilante, goes by Unbreakable. Probably a relatively new face, but has shown up in a few situations."Yūki Mizuki
Yūki looked through the data as she listened. Most of it wasn't very precise, but at least they had an idea on the powers. That would come in handy, targets like this were rare. Tall, strong, can fly and has a sorry excuse of a disguise. Sounds like an amateur all right, but I can't be too careful if he beat up three men without breaking a sweat. "A job for the Yōkai, then?" She asked as she turned to face her father again.Storyteller
"Damn right. I'll smooth things over and you'll show that thug what happens to those who cross us. We'll use those three dimwits to set a trap tonight." As Yūki filled herself in on the target, her father paced around for a bit, occasionally muttering something about no one disrespecting their family like this.Yūki Mizuki
She gave another nod at the extra details. With a bit of luck it'd be over in a couple of hours and she could still get a decent night's sleep. "What would you have me do with him?"Storyteller
"We have no use for him, he's just some vagrant as far as anyone's concerned. No one will miss him, or if anyone does, they'll just have to accept that there's always a bigger fish. Make it fast and clean, the boys will deal with the body. And if he somehow gets away, make sure he learns the lesson."Yūki Mizuki
Should be simple enough, then. I get the drop on him and it'll take more than muscle for him not to drop dead on the spot. It's not fanciful, but it'll get them off my backs for a moment and I'll have a good excuse to take more time for myself next week. Maybe I'll see Aloy again, should be better company than this idiot. Who thinks it's a good idea to attack a group of mobsters, anyway? She'd look through the details again later, but first she'd relax and do a bit of practice to make sure her aim was right for someone this tall. "Understood. I'll be ready when the time is right."Storyteller
Her father responded with a self-satisfied smile, no doubt pleased with the 'justice' that would soon be passed. "Make us proud, Yūki."
