The Mageport Pram
Probably one of the most innovative and unique forms of vehicles in the Free City of Mageport is its Pram, simply known as the Mageport Pram, created through innovations in magic and mechanism technology by two aspiring magical artisans who happen to also be on the Mageport Council of Mages. Rimpel Cogwhir, a gnome known as an adept artisan in mechanical innovation, and Lethandor Vaelorian, a High Elf and master of Magical Enchantment.
Considered an Innovative magical marvel, the Mageport Pram serves as community transportation for the city, zipping along a network of magically charged brass rails over the city's rooftops. It hauls the city's citizens and curious passengers to various Station towers strategically established throughout the city.
There are several Pram Cars that run throughout the City of Mageport and travel along the network of rails that run through the city. Each Pram car has a name and is decorated a little differently, but there are several standard features in their construction.
The Prams are made primarily of Red Mahogany for the body, walls , and benches over a hardwood maple platform floor encased or framed in polished brass. There are glass windows and twelve crushed velvet cushioned benches that are primarily Golden yellow. There are wrought Iron rails for handholds as one enters through the steps at the doors, and inside, wrought iron poles for added support and to act as handholds for standing passengers when the Prams are in motion. Small Crystal Lanterns mounted on the walls provide lighting within the pram at night that flicker and arc warm green light. There is a station at the front of the Pram for the Driver/Engineer, and there are three smaller individual chairs, two at the front and one at the back, that can be occupied by the conductor or security, or even extra passengers. There are two separate chambers at the back of the Pram that hold its Magical Propulsion system. These are typically locked.
Power Generation
The Mageport Pram gets its power from an Enchanted infusion of Large Crystals called Waymark Ametrine. The Crystals have a natural ability to store magical energy and even amplify its power. Mageport Prams have two large Waymark Ametrine Crystals in separate chambers in the rear of the pram. The Crystals sit atop Cogwhir channeling devices that distribute the energy for propulsion of the pram.
Propulsion
The Mageport Prams' means of propulsion is an elemental form of raw magic that provides lift and movement through electrical conductivity along a set of copper rails. This is visible as arcs of glowing green electricity swirling around the rails at the bottom of the Pram and arcing along the copper rails. Specially built brackets and guards hold the pram secure to the propulsion rails.
