The Stag King
The Stag King is a trickster deity and one of the Lords of the Sidhe that make up the pantheon of Faerie. A mutable god, the Stag King changes form to better suit whatever hunt happens to be at hand. While there are three primary aspects, as many as twenty have been noted by reliable sources. Each of the three primary aspects is the specific patron deity of the three Houses of Lancaster sworn to the Stag King's service. The Forest King is the patron of House Inser, the Tigress for House Tilgen, and the Laughing Hunter is worshipped by House Juviar. In all three forms, the Stag King embodies their godly parentage- the firstborn child of Vadaszat and Queen Mab.
Forest King
In this form, the Stag King heavily resembles a healthy mirror of Vadaszat's godly visage. He is a man standing about eight feet tall, well muscled. He has a stag's antlers, ears, and hooves, but otherwise resembles a Tegdylun man, complete with plaited beard. This guise is cosmically aligned with Law and Good, and the only one of the three to regularly interact with mortals. He frequently attends hunting events in this form, usually as an androgynous Embereki or Tiefling, granting rewards to those who successfully recognize him. He makes great sport of pretending to be a mortal being and takes great delight in being caught at it. He takes almost nothing seriously except his opposition to his father Vadaszat. He tends to interfere with the Huntsmaster's plans, particularly those involving his patron houses. This form is the god of good sport.Tigress
When the Stag King wears the mask of the Tigress, she is the patron deity of seduction and manipulation, aligned cosmically with Chaos but neither Good nor Evil. She is just over five feet tall and appears as a red haired Half-Elf of Langite and Tegdylun origin. She always wears a deep-hooded cloak that changes colors with the background and has many pockets full of nasty surprises. She embodies non-literal hunts, those that seek companionship or vengeance. Unlikely to interact with mortals directly, she is known to lead them on chases that end with the god disappearing and the victim winding up in some interesting situation, like being lost in the woods or discovering a secret liaison. While in this form, she is very closely aligned with Mab and often does her mother's bidding in extremely inconvenient ways.Laughing Hunter
The guise of the Laughing Hunter is the Stag King's most feared primary form. They are never seen at all, only heard as a laugh in the wind and felt as a cold presence. This form is the least well-documented, though is known to align with Law and Evil. The Laughing Hunter's appearance always signifies death in some form, and is considered to be the god of desperate survival.
