C2 Session 19
General Summary
Koin and Sun begin approaching Whitefang, who awaits them on the beach with his soldiers
Henry and Xodon are preparing to handle a new wave of pirates
Daemon and Poco are taking care of other enemies in the city
Most of the guard have retreated into the city to protect the general population
All Whitefang has to do is push forward slowly and the city will be won
Up on a hill almost a thousand feet away, Xodon sees Poco wheeling towards the beach in his wheelchair
Koin begins sprinting across the rooftops and down onto the main street and smashes his oil of slipperiness onto the ground, coating the spot of impact down to the beach in oil
Whitefang and Sun walks towards each other
Whitefang slams his anchor axe into the sand, creating a large cloud of dust
He fires his harpoon through the cloud, but misses Sun
More soldiers begin rushing uphill into the city, which is odd since the guards are nowhere to be seen and attacking uphill is not a good idea
Suddenly guards emerge and kill the front waves
Wizards emerge from the ships and summon trebuchets and soldiers to operate them
Henry sees the trebuchets, and remembers his dad taking him to a council meeting
Henry stood outside but overheard his dad talking about a new oil called basilisk oil, which would be highly effective when used during a siege
Henry knows that if you get covered in basilisk oil, you will be turned completely into stone
Barrels of the oil launch at them, Henry and Xodon barely dodge it, but Henry gets spattered with oil and gets stuck and his legs begin hardening
Henry notices the dragolians on horses rushing towards him, and as they get closer he hears them screaming the word traitor at him
One tries to attack him but Henry shields it
The oil is affecting both sides of the battle heavily
Xodon notices a significantly more adorned mage stepping off of Whitefang’s ship
The mage flies up and pulls out a tome, beginning to chant and summon magical shapes, it is not necessarily a spell, but it is a magical effect that looks like it will take awhile
Xodon shoots an arrow at one of the soldiers on a horse, and it strikes his neck and he goes limp, leaving the horse to run rampant
Xodon steps out and stops the horse, unmounting the dead body and getting on the horse
The other mages move up and one looks at Henry, then casts a spell at him, but he shields it
Another mage shoots a ray of frost at Xodon but it misses
Henry teleports off the main road and dispels the basilisk magic on his legs, and the stone turns to dust
Koin starts sprinting
Whitefang swings his anchor axe at Sun, hitting him hard
Sun tries to throw sand at Whitefang, but fails
Whitefang knocks Sun off his feet and points his harpoon at him
Sun stands up and immediately begins looking very angry
A white aura appears around him, and tells Whitefang that his anchor axe swing was a good hit
Sun rushes at him with a scimitar attack and hits
Xodon begins moving under the main mage to shoot at him
He shoots an arrow at the mage, who has to take the hit
Trebuchets fire off, and Koin prepares to deflect it, and does so successfully, sending a barrel of basilisk oil hurtling towards the beach
It hits the trebuchet, spreading oil to the pirates but missing the wizards
One of the ten trebuchets is now disabled for the time being
Wizards try to repair the trebuchet but are too weak
Another wizard teleports towards Henry and casts a gust of wind
Henry is blasted 60 feet into the air, hitting a few things on the way down, but still living easily
Angered, Henry teleports onto the roof, and throws a fire bolt at him, hitting for a small amount of damage
The main mage nears completion of his ritual, as the magical geometry begins stacking
Koin moves under the grand wizard, noticing the tattoo of two stacked M’s, remembering the same mark on the more powerful mages that attacked Thera
Whitefang fires his harpoon at Sun, but he deflects it
Sun attacks with his scimitars, and punches him viciously
A trebuchet fires at Henry, but it backfires and the barrel explodes on itself
A wizard throws a witch bolt at him but misses
Henry laughs before being struck in the back with an acidic arrow
Cavalry rush at Xodon so he can’t stop the ritual
They hit him hard with their swords
Xodon tries to fire an arrow but misses
The grand mage completes his ritual, and twelve circles stacked slam into the ground, forming a large magical circle filled with intricate designs
All of the stone bodies begin to glow, and they all explode into rubble
The rocks begin moving towards to the center of the circle, forming a stone body, and a 30 foot tall stone golem comes to life
Henry throws a chromatic orb at one of the wizards and bloodies him
Koin does things
Whitefang hits Sun with his anchor axe
Sun attacks Whitefang, bloodying him
Xodon rushes to stab a straggling pirate, and kills him
The wizard Henry hit shoots another gust of wind at him, but Henry counterspells it
The stone golem runs at Koin, stepping on the building and attempting to grab him
He grabs him, but Koin writhes out of its grip and begins climbing it
Henry fire bolts the wizard and kills him
Koin punches the stone golem and it doesn’t do anything, but he looks at Sun on the beach and feels inspired, his fist glowing platinum
Sun hits Whitefang, hurting him heavily
He breaks his ankle, but whitefang doesn’t fall
He dislocates his shoulder and breaks multiple other bones trying to disable his anchor axe
Whitefang laughs and pulls a rope in the sand, firing a trebuchet at Sun, crushing him with stone
He begins limping towards his ship, and the pirates begin retreating
Koin is ripping into the golem, and Xodon rides in to help
Wizards come in and one sees Henry and starts casting at him
They both cast gust of wind at him, and he counterspells one and gets blown back slightly by the other
Daemon appears and casts an eighth level spell at the Golem, bloodying it
Henry casts a green mist on the two wizards below him, and rays of light shoot down and instantly kill them
Koin ignites his sword and slashes the golem
Whitefang stands among his trebuchets and signals them to fire at the city and level it
Suddenly all of the trebuchets lock up and break as Poco wheels up and introduces himself
Pirates from every side begin rushing at Poco, but bear traps spring up all over the place and lock them in place
Poco pulls a rope form under the sand and dozens of ropes pull tight and all of the trebuchets and bear traps are sprung up into the air and compiled into an amalgamation of metal, wood, and flesh
The stone golem starts slam attacking Koin who is on his head, smacking him two times onto the ground
Henry begins sprinting full speed to meet up with the rest of the group
Koin slashes at the golem
Whitefang shoots his harpoon at Poco pulling him towards him
Poco is smiling as Whitefang says he should be able to dispose of him easily
Whitefang asks why he’s smiling, poco says it’s ironic that he doesn’t follow his own advice to not show up to a fight without backup
Sun streaks at Whitefang with scales instead of fur and flaming platinum claws with a red dragon mark on his back
Sun knocks him out with one punch
He is ready to pounce on him again, but stands calm and returns back to his normal form before collapsing on the sand
Daemon walks up to Whitefang, doing the same to him as he did to Henry, then begins healing him
Poco says that thanks to Daemon, Whitefang will now be working for the silver masks
Poco asks him what the armada is doing, and he says that they are attacking Auding
Says they are in no condition to fight, but the Leonins should have it under control
They cannot fight the battle of Auding and gather their crew at the same time, and their main objective is to get their crew
Sun confirms that the leonins should handle it perfectly
Poco tells Whitefang that he has ruined the city he loves, and tells him that he owes Poco a city
Says he’s thinking of something northern in Dragol
Poco tells them to get to amassing their crew
Says that at least now they have a captain, as he points at Whitefang
Daemon says they must get going to get their crew as they are a nomadic people
Sun begins tending to the tied up dragolians and the general population begin reappearing and helping clean up
They set off down a path into the wilderness outside of Fio
They travel through the day and settle in the night, and Daemon goes to sleep while Xodon takes first watch
Xodon doesn’t notice anything, but gets to observe a beautiful blazing sunset
Henry also doesn’t notice anything, but sits for awhile while feeling a bit inadequate to those around him
Daemon and Poco and Sun are powerful, going toe to toe with Whitefang
Xodon and Koin are taking down multiple enemies and golems
He feels the need for more power, but looks at the sea and the feeling goes away for a second before he goes back to sleep
Koin notices nothing on his watch and they all wake up
Daemon casts his teleport spell, and they all are transported safely to the forest
There are many large green trees surrounding them, and a natural feel to the environment
Xodon recognizes the forest as the one he woke up in
Daemon says the people they are meeting are a bit barbaric, but he has a spell that will let them speak any language
Says their culture is a bit strange, and he has spoken to their leader before, and they have agreed to help them as the three of them prove capable to their standards
They want to put them through a trial, and if they survive/succeed, they will help them
He says they are ready to meet them
He casts a spell and pushes them back into a hole and onto a stick raft going down a watery canal
The raft hits an odd corner, and Koin slips off the raft and under the rapid water
They continue down the cascading river
They continue on for several more thousands of feet until the river comes to an end and the raft stops
They look around and don’t see anyone around
Xodon wades around in the water, eventually going underneath the surface to look around, and senses movement but they are just small fish
Henry creates an arcane eye and looks around for half an hour but doesn’t find anything
Xodon hasn’t come back yet
Henry begins swimming up the river and suddenly reveals rows of vine that he can push over
He goes through the hole, and falls 30 feet into a secondary pool of water, where he sees Xodon 100 feet or so drying off
Koin walks in from a side hall and stares at them angrily for ditching him
They spend the rest of the day moving through the caverns
Eventually, they wander into a room where they see the ceilings are covered in the same viny surface Henry saw before
After awhile they find a wall that has a 3 foot hole in it just above the water, with some water pouring into it
They all enter the tunnel which goes down about 30 feet, and the water is significantly less, but still present
There are huts and buildings scattered around and frog people walking around
They notice dozens of small tunnels going in and out of the small village
The frog people begin playing drums and lighting torches, walking towards them
There is a face carved into the wall, and next to it is a yellow frog slapping its sides and speaking to the others
Henry casts the tongues spell on Xodon and he hears that the yellow frog is talking about them being there for the trial to gain their aid in sailing to Dragol
Xodon thanks them for welcoming them into their home
He asks if they are ready for the trial of the waters
Before they can answer, a whirlpool appears and the yellow frog begins casting a ninth level spell, saying to let the trial begin
The floor disappears, and they fall into a void
