C1 Session 9

We are put into the fields next to [[Amulet]] by [[Aidren]]. We walk out to see a bit of commotion among the people, and the main guy telling them to calm down and that the [[Dawn Blades]] are sending carts to evacuate the people, who are clearly not very happy about this. [[Murfy]] confirms his statements, and he acknowledges him. Murfy tells the people that the children are safe with each other and the parents are chiming in and asking where their children are. The main guy says his name is [[John]]. we tell him of the tragedy at the keep and offer financial assistance, but he declined. He is in disbelief. They have no horses or carts, so we can’t get back in due time. The people are convinced by kev that there is another village that we can guide them to. We head inside the tavern to discuss with John. We head upstairs and into John’s room. We start discussing the events of the keep, and he knows Aidren. He goes over to his drawer and says “it’s missing”, to which kev inquires what is missing. He comes back with tankard and explains. He kept a journal of strange happenings in the town including the start of the dragon war. But it has gone missing. Kev has the book somehow in his bag of holding. John is amazed. He tells us that we must leave so as to not endanger his people with these magical books. We understand his concern and begin the trek to [[Onye Aloura]]. We make a stop at the diamond ass tavern to get horses. We rest at nightfall before continuing and we are halfway to the tavern. As we’re walking, I’m reading one of kev’s books while he researches some potions. We arrive and it’s just as decrepid as always. There are horses there, and we’re takin em, and we head on our way
 
  LORE DUMP:
  First chunk of books from dragon keep. [[The Dragon’s Keep]] was constructed in the year 36. The power that was the gods was too powerful to be put into one being, so it was split into avatars, entities made to sustain the power of the gods. The dragon's nature was selfish and sought to capture it. They were strong in the arcane force and the [[Veris Dun]]. The vessel could be anything, so they summoned an avatar and bound it to the keep. 5 main dragons represented the elements, and they used the power of the avatar to give power to everyone in the keep.
  The way that dragons constructed the runes was made so that if you just put them down it would activate itself
  Next up, history books. [[Aidren]] was the first elf to obtain magic. Elves discovered [[The Weave]] and arcane force. He understood complex arcane equations and theories. Some say he may have been more powerful than dragons in arcane power. He was so fascinated by the planes that he wanted to find ways to travel between them. Some books include his notes on his studies. He had notes on how beings had an essence on each of the planes. Fae wild was founded by massive powers. The shadow, the ethereal. He knew of more planes and wanted to know how to get to them, even making a spell that he thought could rip through every plane at once. There’s talk about mysterious beings with unknown power, and a spell called Planar Link. There are various smaller equations, along with Aidren’s personal diary. He talks about how he wants to blow straight through to the plane of the gods and show the gods how powerful the gods could really be. Talks about how he used to live in a small village, but got a surge of power, ripping a very small hole in the weave, and the power of the arcane force overtook him. He casted Planar link and opened his vision to the planes, only making it to the vision of the chaotic plane. He fled using magic after being badly corrupted by the force of magic. Everything after that is scribbles, but a small piece of parchment with an equation very similar to the vessel hold spell. It takes a lot of arcane energy. What he found was a spell to rebind an avatar to another place that it is already bound to. He talks about how he plans to put the power of the avatar into his armor, making him very powerful. Basic premise, he wants to take over the world and challenge the gods. The avatar he captured the power of the hollow god of fire.

  We arrive at the city, guards ask our business, we get past. As we come into the city, we see a guy running to us, he says there’s something to deliver to us, our hands only. We open it and there is a sigil, it is the sigil of high king dronos. It says “i am aware you’re the troop that was assigned to the dragon keep, I wish to meet with you in the dawn blade tavern. We walk in, everyone is freaking out, but then silence. A guy we left for dead on our way out last time apologizes, and congratulates us. They all part away for us as we walk towards the lady. We have just leveled up to the rank of flame. We collect our massive reward and head upstairs to the headmasters quarters. Inside there is a table with elves and some others. We see an elven woman in plate armor, who we don’t know. There is a half orc man with scalemail, halfling woman with hide armor and a rapier, a female human woman in plate armor, and Elfdard the dwarf. There are table set about and servants scattered throughout the room. The elven woman introduces herself as the leader of the civil watchers. Half orc man is [[Ulden Fram]], high priest of the church. The halfling is reen, who is very upbeat. They are confused as to how we survived the blast and the chaos of the keep, Dronos is on his way. One of the guys asks how we survived. We explain and they are baffled. We continue to explain Aidren and the keep, and all of a sudden, [[High King Dronos]] arrives. He’s pretty big, red, got some dreads that are pulled back. He carries the crown on his head, with studded leather. He snaps and suddenly has fine, expensive casual clothing, with 2 beautifully crafted shortswords to either side. He knows Aidren, and has fought many thousands of his men. He doesn’t care that much about the keep. He just wanted to meet us and has an issue. A couple of his clerics have seen war coming from the north. Dronos is not happy, he has to deal with a war and Aidren, he is stressed out. But he hands us medals of honor, which he says are very hard to come by, and says to keep them on us. We walk out and into the open, and notice that the clouds are moving really fast for some reason. All the sudden a lightning bolt, and Dronos tells Elfdard to get the people out and yells to servants to get his armor and The Sword. Dronos says this is the perfect storm. There’s lightning in the sky and a massive cloud forms and eclipses the sun. far off in the distance, the 4 dragons of the elements, flying towards Onye Aloura. Behind us something stone breaks, its the red dragon fuck, a.k.a the fucking GNOME. Flying in the middle of the dragons is a golden light. Fiery wings, golden hands, its Aidren. This is about to be a big ass battle, and I’m not going to take notes on any of it, I’ll just summarize it at the end, if I can.
 
  Battle Summary: So basically Dronos tried to stop Aidren but couldn’t. The dragons fucked people up and Aidren went sicko mode. We all took a shitload of damage and kev almost died. We got knocked and woke up in a hospital.
 
  We wake up and there are people in hospital beds around us, including Dronos and an unknown person in a full body cast. I got a severe injury on my chest. It’s a scar so deep and festering that it’s not healing properly, and there’s a wound right where my life essence would normally be. Wes has a massive scar all the way down his body, and kev has broken ribs. Dronos wakes up and says he underestimated Aidren. He does not know what Aidren tried to do, but he succeeded. He wants us to be trained and be involved more to help out. Dronos tells wes to join our group, we accept him and decide to call ourselves [[The Legion of Revenants]], or L.O.R.. We contact our mentors. The first one is an elderly woman who looks like a commoner. She calls for kev. Second one is an orc, she calls for wes. The last one is my mentor who trained me in the beginning, a male black dragonborn. Time for private training
 
  Private Training:
  Arin starts off by training in the monastery. He says my mind is clouded and I will learn to change that. He puts me in the middle of 6 bronze bowls. They all make different sounds. I close my eyes and I am told to retune my [[Ki]]. he says I can use my ki to change the tones of the bowls and my surroundings. After that, he says I need to use the ki throughout my body. He strikes me and I am winded immediately. I spend the days training, taking many hits until I learn. It’s the middle of the night and I dodge a hit, throw one, and he catches it. I go for a sweep, and as he jumps i bounce off my hands and flip behind him and strike his neck. He deflects all my hits but I’m using all of my limbs to spread my ki. I sweep again, he jumps and time stops. I say “you fool” and jump up on one hand and spin kick him. I win. Next up is an exercise where I have to get home(across the lake)without going around the lake or touching the water. I channel the ki through my breath weapon and it’s so powerful that it boosts me into the air. I make it across. Next up, Arin says I need to know what it means to be in tune with my ki. He pulls out midnight tears and takes a sip, nothing happens. Then I take a sip and instantly I’m in pain, like ki but in a negative way. I have to focus my ki even harder. I can feel the ki absorbing the poison. He says this is what it means to be one of them. The way of the long death. He is about to teach me the last thing he knows. For the rest of my training he teaches how to move ki throughout my body and my soul, move faster, punch stronger. He says I am going to die, and come back to life. He puts on reaper armor and we have an epic battle but he is just slightly ahead. We fight for 15 minutes, we are exhausted. He comes down on me and I do my signature move. I steal the last of his ki. As he lays dead on the ground, his ki sparks again and he gets up and punches me. I hear “trust your ki” before I pass out. I channel it and hold on to it, then awake to Arin saying “trust your ki”.
 
   I am now an assassin. I celebrate death and conceal my identity. I can escape death by channeling my ki. 
 
  Extra info: The legion of revenants is an official organization now. Dronos is having an HQ built. Midway through our training, the hobgoblins went to war with onya alura. They cannot figure out where the hobgoblins are coming from, but they are coming in the thousands, with [[The Dragon’s Claw]] militia leading, and it’s leader Arthur. No updates on winning or losing, but there is a massacre. We do know that Aidren fled after his elemental blast into the ground. He obliterated miles of land. He suffered some effects due to this. The dragons had turned on Aidren and broke their pact with him. The dragons have been making dungeons to hold the avatars in all over the continent. Aidren’s blast almost killed all of the 5 dragons, and they were forced to flee. Many other organization owners also brutally injured. [[The Ravens]] have sent a group of civil watchers beyond the dragon’s keep. Lizardfolk and Kobold camps are combined into one at a different location. Combination of the elements destroyed the lower areas of the city and nearly all of the civilians killed. As we finished our training the final casualty count was finished. 10,000 dead. Dronos is working hard to repair. He has tasked us with finding and eliminating Aidren, and he does not expect just us three to do so. Many people are upset with the Onye reserve is not helping with the economic stress. The dragons have gone into hiding but Dronos has a lead on where the dungeons might be. Kevin is the leader of our organization, and as such have access to all information regarding our mission. The people are also not very happy that a new Headquarters are being built.
