C1 Session 7

General Summary

We approach the southeast door, a well crafted wooden and stone door. [[Murfy]] investigates the door for traps. No traps but the door is locked. He picks the lock and opens the door. Inside, the chamber is dark, slightly larger than the room that we were just in. It smells like death. Looking around, we see runes inscribed in the floor and walls. Other runes in draconic, as well as an assortment of mutilated bodies. Murfy investigates the runes, but can’t quite figure out what they mean. However, he reads the runes in draconic and finds that they are for testing. Nothing else to do in this room. [[Arturim]] looks at one of the corpses, all he can tell is that they were heavily fucked with, not just burn victims. They were tested on with a combination of natural and unnatural effects. Conditions on the body most likely came from the draconic runes. I can also see that injuries were a combination of cutting and unnatural magic effects, with the magic occurring during life, and natural effects setting in postmortem. There is 1 orc, 3 dragonborn, and some other races. To have entered this room you had to be a dragon. They were most likely prisoners or slaves. We avoid stepping on the runes and make our way towards the southwest door. As we’re making our way over, we notice that this entire room is basically a melting room, and there are some draconic runes scratched into the floor. The runes talk about how [[The Avatar of the Elements]] could transform into more with powerful arcane force, how combining certain elemental magic had different effects. Also talks about test results. I also learn that I am very resistant to my own acid and how the first receivers of these resistances were dragonborn. We go out the left direction and ran into a door that is very intricate. It has bronze outlines, a very rare occurrence. I know where it comes from, but it’s still not a common resource. The door has painted elements to give it a charred effect with a stained glass window of a dragon breathing fire. I look through the window and it’s dark. As I’m looking through, I feel a relief of pressure, like it was a pressure plate. I step on the plate and the fire of the dragon starts to glow and bronze statuettes of dragons emerge and breathe a shit ton of fire. I make the dex saving throw, but Murfy and [[Raiden]] do not. Making the saving throw didn’t matter though, because i still got knocked unconscious. I get revived by Murfy and we notice that the door never actually had a handle, but now it has just slid open and the inner chamber lights up with torches that line the wall. The room is wacky, there are piles of gold everywhere, as well as a plethora of tools and weapons surrounding what appears to be a dog bed of sorts. Nobody has been here in a while and there are cobwebs everywhere. Murfy scans for traps, and boy oh boy is there. A tripwire in front of us, with a pressure plate right in front of that, and to the left, a very thin almost invisible string almost touching our noses. Luckily, Murfy disarms it very carefully. We go to pick up the gold and it’s awfully light. We take a bite and it’s FUCKING CHOCOLATE. left by [[Drogon, The Red Dragon]] REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
We realise that the dragons can shapeshift, fucking gnome. We all walk away very slowly towards the normal looking door at the end of the room, then turn around and go back the way we came. We go to the hallway to the east. Walking in, there’s a very small antichamber, small area before turning to the left. I read some of the notes strewn about, they talk about the elements and the elemental effects of the keep. Raiden punches the door and gets injured, then opens it. He triggers a trap and gets a dart shot at him. Inside, another antichamber with several more desks. Less notes and more larger tables, messier and mistreated. We see another door across the room, also with bronze inlays, and instead of a stained glass window, there are pieces of lapis forming a dragon’s claw. I open the door, and to my surprise, no traps. But as soon as I step in I trip a wire and get a dart shot at me. There’s a note attached in draconic, closest translation reads “haha, fuckin stupid”.
An extremely blue room is revealed, paintings and ornate decorations galore. Full of self portraits of [[Balakar, The Blue Dragon]]. Raiden lays in the old and dusty bed, but it’s comfortable. There is an exit to the southwest and north. This guy looks very self-indulged, definitely not the type of guy I want to be around. There is however a holy symbol laying in the room, not the common religious symbol though. We go open the door, and nothing happens. No traps or anything. We go through and identify it as the room of [[Feing, the White Dragon]]. Not much detail, but there’s a few books. Raiden opens the door and nothing happens. Leads into another fairly bland room that is green, except there’s literally nothing in here but five statues of Dragon heads, this is the room of [[Girolo, the Green Dragon]]. We walk to a southern door. No traps. He opens the door and it leads back into the main room, and take a short rest. We go to the northwest intricate door. We open it and there is a small bed and desk in the mainly black room of [[Aerozanoth, The Black Dragon]]. Fake dragon horns mounted on the wall. Upper left hand corner as west as possible, there’s a decently sized hole, most likely caused from erosion or something burrowing in the wall. There’s an empty bookshelf with no dust on it. Scroll cases are all empty. We walk through a door on the left into a different [[Magic Testing Chamber]]. Couple of draconic things, but nothing I don’t already know. We walk out into the main room and to the only door we haven't gone through, we open it and there is immediately another door, which has been affected by every element. Wes pushes the door down. On the other side are 4 children huddled together crying. They cower into the corners when we try to comfort them. I go to lick a chest to make sure it’s not a mimic. It whispers “hey how ya doin baby” and swallows me. We murder them accordingly. We then notice that the children are all different fucking colors. It’s as if the elements have overtaken them. As we’re arguing, the gray kid grabs everyone and shifts into the ground. [[The Elemental Children]] reappear at the stairs and run up the stairs. We get to the landing pad, the blue girl makes some weird air pocket and sits on it and the red girl starts shooting fire while running away. They’re just going, they lower themselves into the courtyard and disappear into the keep. We make our way up and to the spiral staircase again. The space in between the stairs is filled by a pillar with art depicting the rise of the dragons and a story of their origin. We get to the top and into a pretty big room. There are draconic runes all along the walls , with 2 large doors, one on the left and another on the right, and a hatch closes, leaving no way to go back down. Something written on the wall, rules. They say: get 3 wrong, fight the berefong(loosely means champion in draconic), get 3 right and you may proceed. There is also a riddle, it says:

only one color, but not one size, stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies, present in the sun but not in the rain, doing no harm and feeling no pain
Murfy steps up and answers it. The right door opens and we walk in. another riddle:

Stronger than steel, and older than time, they are more patient than death and shall stand even when the stars have ceased to shine. Their strength is in roots very deep, where the sands and frosted ages can hope to never reach

I answer the riddle and the right door opens, we walk in. In this room there’s another riddle

When one does not know what it is, then it is something. When one knows what it is, then it is nothing

A prisoner is told “if you tell a lie we will hang you, if you tell a truth we will shoot you”

Murfy answers it and the left door opens. The last riddle

There are 4 siblings in this world all born together. The first runs and is never weary, the second eats but is never full, the third drinks and is always thirsty, and the fourth sings his songs forever
  [[The Elements]]
I answer, and the door opens leading into a staircase
