Evergon

Evergon is home to the races created by long-dead primordial beings known as Ancients. The Ancients shaped the world in their youth, and with age the most powerful among them discovered ways to create life and filled the world with their creations. After their deaths, either through age or conflict, the world was left to the younger races and after centuries of development a mysterious event known as the Calamity erased the world's memories and a vast amount of knowledge was lost to the people. Magic has and continues to play a primary role in the world, with most of the population capable of using it in some form. Theorized to be residual power from the time of the Ancients, an energy known as mana flows throughout everything in the world, including the people, and they are able to channel this energy through various methods to use magic. After the Calamity, a lot of advanced magics were lost, and although some of the techniques have been recovered, there are plenty still left to be discovered along with a litany of other mysteries about the world.
