The Oracle
The Daughter of the Sun was the focal point of the Recollection Oracle, as oracled by Machella, a Sun acolyte known for her accuracy. The Daughter was to cause grand societal changes on Talis, then, after death, bring her wisdom and her alliances into the Evenacht, where she would alter the destiny of the land of the dead.
But how would one know, who the Daughter of the Sun was?
Machella pointed to her birth.
The Birth
The Daughter of the Sun will take her first breath after the menace of a star-born threat, to a woman besieged for her outspoken nature. The woman will hold the Sun in her hands and shine so brightly, jealousy will fill the hearts of her peers. They will meet her rise from an unknown family with suspicion, for unlike them, her hands will not gleam with rich jewels, her body will not move beneath expensive fabrics, her feet will not wear the impractical shoes of the elite. Her hair will fall in natural golden splendor, no alteration required.
The common people will love her voice, her carriage, and her devotion, and she will lead the Sun to a new dawn. Ancient voices will fall to the side as hers rises above them, sweet and bold, and anger at their irrelevance will spin into hate. After the Daughter’s birth, the hate will cement into enraged action.
For the Daughter will inherit her mother’s shine, and the peers, seeing a future of declining power and influence, will plot against them both. Recognizing the darkness and concerned for her child, the woman will gather friends to bless the child with various spells and artifacts to keep her safe from her enemies.
All this will lead to the most precious gift, a kiss on the forehead by an unknown man swimming in Sun’s Touch. This kiss will remain hidden from all but the woman’s most cherished inner circle, and will mark her as the Daughter of the Sun to all future peoples.
Of Note: This oracle is now considered defunct, because the Daughter of the Sun was assassinated before she reached her full potential on Talis. She entered the Evenacht, but unlike the claims of the Oracle, did so without fanfare or notice, and disappeared.
